Our Evening Skincare Routine

It’s the sequel to our morning skincare routine…the evening skincare routine! Before settling in at night, these are the products we use to wipe away the dirt, grime and makeup from the day. One of us has dry to normal skin, while the other has oily skin with some sensitive areas. You’re sure to find something here that works for you.

We love to try new products! If you have a something you can’t live without, tell us in the comments.

Having a bedtime routine is part of my sleep hygiene. By doing the same things each night; brushing my teeth, washing my face, applying all of my (Hail Mary) miracle products and then getting into bed, my body knows it’s time for sleep. Having a good sleep hygiene routine is essential to getting a good nights rest, looking and feeling refreshed. Like anything in life consistency is key, if you use your magic lotions and potions each night you will see improvement in the quality of your skin. (Oh, and drink lots of water!)

spa headband // face wash // glycolic peel pads // night cream // neck cream

My skin type is normal to dry. When looking for new products (I am easily influenced!) I look for recommendations from people who’s skin is similar to mine (age, texture, sun damage). This is my current evening skincare routine.

Spa Headband : I saw these spa headbands over on Hi Sugarplum (hey Cassie!) a few years ago. I immediately bought them for my girlfriends. Perfect for washing your face. And they go right in the washer machine.

Juno Skin : This cleansing balm has only 10 ingredients, doesn’t burn my eyes and gets my make-up off. It leaves my face feeling soft and ready for the next step.

Colleen Rothschild Glycolic Peel Pads : These Glycolic Peel Pads have a cult following. I find them mild enough to use everyday. They help get the dirt off your skin and aid in the skin renewal process – glycolic acid targets fine lines and hyper pigmentation.

Augustinus Bader – The Rich Cream : This is the Holy Grail of face creams. I heard an interview with Bobbi Brown and she said it was the only cream she will use now. It’s thick, perfect for dry skin or winter and it is luxurious. It feels expensive.

StriVectin Neck Cream : This neck cream is new to me, I’ve been using it for about two weeks. No noticeable difference yet, other than my skin in more moisturized. I will keep you posted on this one.

I’m keeping the evening routine simple, too. There are more nights than I care to admit where I am doing this half asleep because I fell asleep on the couch watching TV. LOL! And, don’t forget, your evening skincare routine is only as good as the rest of your skincare habits – you need a morning routine, plenty of sunscreen and, like Megan said, lots of water. And, seriously, how cute is Megan’s headband (I need to up my game – here’s mine! LOL!).

Cleansing Balm // Lip Mask // Glycolic Acid Peel + Caring Oil // UV Moisturizer // Night Cream

My skin type is generally very oily, with some sensitive areas. When purchasing something new, I generally look for products that are oil-free, non-greasy, and light. I also don’t like anything complicated and keep my routine simple. This is my evening skincare routine.

Colleen Rothschild Radiant Cleansing Balm : This cleansing balm removes makeup, minimizes pores and leaves my skin feeling clean and smooth. Love this stuff! I linked the jumbo size, but they also sell a smaller size and a travel size (if you want to try before you commit). I use it with the included muslin cloth for a little extra exfoliation.

Hello Results Baby-Smooth Glycolic Acid Peel + Caring Oil : I started using this when several reviews said it helped the “11” lines between your eyebrows! It has helped minimize those, and this peel is gentle for sensitive skin so you can use it nightly. Plus, it helps leave skin feeling soft and hydrated.

Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep Night Cream : This night cream helps with fine lines and wrinkles, and leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth. It doesn’t transfer to my pillowcase, and the scent is heavenly before bedtime.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask : This lip mask helps soothe and moisturizer lips overnight.

EltaMD UV Facial Moisturizing Sunscreen : The most important part of the nighttime routine is to use UV protection the next morning so you don’t undo all the good you just did! This is the UV moisturizer I use.

Sweet dreams!
