What We’re Watching
CHRISTA : Season 2 of Hacks (HBO Max) premiered this week – can’t wait to watch it! Jean Smart plays Deborah Vance, a Las Vegas comedian trying to restart her career, and it’s easy to see why she won an Emmy for this role. You’ll love her humor and her dark side, as well as her struggles to understand a much younger generation. (And Deborah Vance has a diet coke fountain in her kitchen – what’s not to love!) Enjoy the show!
MEGAN : I started watching The First Lady (Showtime) via Prime and it’s really good. Seriously, I wondered how they would weave together the stories of Michelle Obama, Betty Ford and Eleanor Roosevelt, but it works. I’m learning lots of interesting facts about each of the First Ladies, however it’s the casting that steals the show. The actresses portraying the First Ladies are spot on, really good! Tune in for a little history lesson AND entertainment. New episodes drop Sunday nights at 9pm.
Random Stuff We Like
CHRISTA : Does you dog like to bury under blankets? Our dog Shelby loves to cover herself and sleep in her little cocoon, so we got her this dog bed from Amazon with the attached blanket. She LOVES it! The images online show it with some plastic tubing to hold the blanket open, but Shelby prefers it without that. For reference, Shelby is about 35 lbs and she has the 35 inch snuggerly with memory foam bed in lambswool/suede grey. I like that they also sell replacement covers for this.
MEGAN : A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to be a guest on a podcast. I love podcasts, so this was an extra special treat for me to be a part of Inside the Mom’s Club (how great is that name?). Host Monica Samuals interviewed Jen Principe and I got to bear witness and have a small part. Super cool! You can check it out where ever you get your podcasts or there is a link on their website. Jen’s story and new book, A Common Thread, are great reads.

Notes
Something You Need (Trust Us!)
CHRISTA : You need to protect your face with sunscreen, ladies! Here are three tinted options from brands I trust, and they’re perfect to put on when you start your day (especially if you’re heading out for a morning walk). The tint gives you a little coverage so you’re walk and talk ready!
- EltaMD Facial Sunscreen *dermatologist recommended
- First Aid Beauty Tinted Moisturizer *currently unavailable
- IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream
MEGAN : Readers! You probably have them on right now, I know I do. Here are a few of my tried and true favorites. Don’t worry these are not your grandfather’s Foster Grants. This four pack from Amazon gives great bang for the buck at under $4 a pair. I’m always happy to find a pair of sunglass readers for pool days. And one higher end pair for when I’m fancy.
Save vs. Splurge
CHRISTA : Megan shared some great sunglasses in a “walk and talk” a few weeks ago, and now it’s my turn. I purchased this splurge pair (over $50) a few years ago, but found the save pair (under $15) for our recent vacation in April. Honestly, I can’t tell the difference between them, and for sizing, they both measure the same. A two pack (black and tortoise) of the save pair is under $20! I can toss them in my purse, my pool bag, my car – no worries!
