Now Let’s Walk & Talk!
Welcome to Walk & Talk, a weekly hangout for women over 50 who love good finds and great outfits. It’s all about easy looks, favorite things, and the kind of recommendations you’d text to a friend.
CHRISTA : There’s something about spring that makes you want to open the windows, clear things out, and start fresh… including your closet. I find myself reaching for lighter pieces, easy outfits, and anything that feels a little brighter and more like me again. At this point, it’s less about trends and more about wearing what feels good and makes getting dressed easy. Embrace your comfortable styles!
MEGAN : Spring is the perfect time to update your make up and skin care. The Sephora sale (only happens twice a year!) starts today for Rouge members. Whether you are looking to pick up a new lipstick, try a face cream or restock your tried and true favorites, this is the week to hit up Sephora.

What We’re Watching
MEGAN : Turns out I’m a Taylor Sheridan fan. From Landman to 1923, I can’t get enough of his stories. This week I started The Madison (Paramount +). It was a slow start, but by the third episode I felt invested in the characters and not just Michelle Pfieffer’s sunglasses. Enjoying the female led cast and the beautiful Montana scenery.
CHRISTA : Task (HBO) stars Mark Ruffalo as an FBI investigator put in charge of a task force to solve a string of crimes. This premiered back in September, and I’m not sure why it took us so long to watch. It’s got a strong 96% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and definitely worth a look.
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : This is one of those easy spring outfits that just works every time. A cute, lightweight top paired with flare jeans feels fresh, flattering, and a little bit fun without trying too hard. I’ve been reaching for more comfortable shoes lately, and these Dolce Vita “Starla” sandals have a cushioned footbed plus just enough style to elevate the look. The adjustable velcro slingback and buckle straps make them an easy, secure fit.

MEGAN : I’m obsessed with the Gap Easy pants. I have them in crepe, cotton twill and linen. The petite length is perfect on my 5’1 frame. I love that these look good enough to wear to work but feel like sweatpants. Are these the gateway pants from athliesure to pants with zippers? Perhaps.

What We’re Loving
MEGAN : Is it Christmas? Nope, it’s the Sephora sale! Only happens twice a year so head over to the make up mecca. These are my tried and true favorites, the things I restock during this even because they never go on sale. If I was only going to buy one thing at the sale it would be the Rhode Milky Glaze. I layer it on top of my moisturizer, mix it with my foundation to make it a skin tint and basically slather it all over my face and neck.

CHRISTA : Honestly, I don’t know what I’d do without this Urban Decay Naked 3 eyeshadow palette… and I’m not interested in finding out. I’ve been using it for years (my Amazon order history for this dates back to 2021!). Let’s hope they never stop making it! It has all the perfect shades for an easy, polished look that never feels like too much. The mini size is great for your travel bag, too.

What We’re Styling: A Spring Bridal/Baby Shower
Each week, we share easy outfit ideas inspired by real-life plans and places. Think comfortable, put-together looks you can recreate with what you already own, plus a few fun add-to-cart options if you want to update your closet.
CHRISTA : A blue shirtdress midi is one of those effortless pieces that always looks polished without trying too hard. The structured collar and button front give it shape, while the midi length offers just the right amount of coverage, making it flattering and easy to wear at any age. It’s a perfect throw-on-and-go option that feels comfortable but still pulled together for everyday style.

MEGAN : I’m a fan of the Chloe dress from Tuckernuck. It comes in a short length and multiple colors. The Chloe dress is the ultimate closet staple. Wear it to graduations, showers, daytime weddings, dinners — pretty much anything.
Style tip: The Chloe dress fits true to size. It’s a little long on my 5’1 frame but still works.

Just for Fun
MEGAN : The Sephora sale isn’t just for restocking, here are a few of the products on my list of “new things to try”. When trying a new to me product (and let’s be real, recommendations are great but not every product works the same for every person) I like to start with a sample/travel size and I buy during a sale to minimize my initial investment.

CHRISTA : Who knew Lamb Chop is the hottest dog toy in America! Well, as soon as I read that, I ordered one for Josie. Go figure…she loves it! She’s normally a destroyer of toys (we have her in the “super chewer” Bark Box subscription), but this one has survived well beyond the first day. If your dog doesn’t have this toy, what are you waiting for?
Update: Sadly, Josie did nibble off the ear, but other than that it’s a favorite in her toy bin.
Welcome to your new favorite email.
Life’s too short for bad recs and boring outfits. Luckily we’ve got neither! Subscribe today, and when we find something we love, you’ll be the first to know!
