Now Let’s Walk & Talk!
Welcome to Walk & Talk, a weekly hangout for women over 50 who love good finds and great outfits. It’s all about easy looks, favorite things, and the kind of recommendations you’d text to a friend.
CHRISTA : When was the last time you tried something new with your look? Not a total overhaul…just a little switch-up to keep things feeling fresh. Maybe it’s as simple as choosing a bright color instead of a neutral. It’s so easy to fall into the same routine, especially when you know what works, but that doesn’t mean we have to get stuck there. This week, we’re having a little fun with green…an easy, feel-good trend that might be just the nudge you need to try something new without overthinking it.
MEGAN : It’s been 90 degrees here this week, next week back to the 50s. Mother Nature has my head (and closet) spinning. If your weather has been crazy and you’ve already “switched” your closet to summer, remember layers are your friend. This is the moment your cotton sweaters have been waiting for, let them shine!

What We’re Watching
MEGAN : Looking for a show to watch with your spouse that you will both love? My husband and I started Big Mistake (Netflix) and we are laughing out loud. Starring Dan Levy. If you are a Schitt$ Creek fan you will want to binge all eight episodes.
CHRISTA : For fans of The Handmaid’s Tale, have you started The Testaments on Hulu? Set in Gilead four years after June’s revolution, see how the new generation of young girls (privileged commanders’ daughters) are taking back their freedoms.
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : Singing the praises of LOFT’s “Palmer” pants. A nice cropped length so they work for any shoes or sandals, including sneakers. Come in lots of colors, and lots of sizes Regular, Petite, Tall and Curvy. I’m feeling like I might like these even more with a low heel instead of flat sandals.
Fit tip: They fit TTS. I am 5’4 and wearing a petite.

MEGAN : I love a one and done dress on these hot days. Frank and Eileen have a fantastic shirt dress in the most beautiful colors. Wash and wear (I hang to dry). The F&E shirt dress runs long (my 5’9 friend loves it!). I picked up a pop of red ballet flat last week and they go with EVERYTHING. These Sam Edelman flats run true to size but wide.

What We’re Loving
MEGAN : I popped into Old Navy last week to do a return and left with a bag full of treasures. Old Navy is on FIRE this spring, I’m not sure who their new creative team is but these items are giving designer vibes at Old Navy prices. If you haven’t checked out Old Navy lately I highly recommend you do.

CHRISTA : Obsessed 😍 How cute are these new striped tote bags from BaubleBar?! And their original custom totes are equally cute, too! If you’ve got a spring gift on your list (Mother’s Day, graduations, birthdays…all of it), this is such an easy win. And honestly…if the gift is for you? Fully support that decision. These are the kind of bags everyone ends up loving.
Style tip: Striped tote comes in 8 colors with a preset coordinating monogram color. The solid tote comes in 9 colors with 13 monogram colors so get creative. Both available in three sizes with two or three initials.

What We’re Styling: The Shade of Green That’s Trending
Each week, we share easy outfit ideas inspired by real-life plans and places. Think comfortable, put-together looks you can recreate with what you already own, plus a few fun add-to-cart options if you want to update your closet.
CHRISTA : This dress is such a cute and affordable way to style this year’s green color trend! Lands’ End always seems to be having a sale, and at the time I’m writing this, the dress is 50% off (only about $65). This could easily dress up for dinner and drinks on the patio or dress down with sneakers or flat sandals for a girls’ lunch.
Fit tip: The length of this dress is 36.5″–for me at 5’4″ that’s the sweet spot for knee length dresses (somewhere around 36″)! This measurement is a good one to know for yourself. Just find your favorite dress in the closet and measure it; save that number in a note on your phone along with other measurements (like your trouser inseam, and inseam of your favorite ankle length and crop denim). Online shopping becomes a breeze when you can check the measurements before you add to cart.

MEGAN : Sometimes trending colors are a little scary to me, especially this bright, chartreuse green. Working the colors in through accessories — think scarves, jackets, purses, jewelry feels like a “safer” way to add a trending color into your wardrobe.
Style tip: A neutral base outfit (white jeans and a gray sweater) let the colors pop. This short sleeve cashmere sweater is under $60 and comes in 10 colors. Perfect add to your wardrobe essentials.

Just for Fun
MEGAN : I was chest to chain at Sephora last Friday for the sale kick off. I picked up a few refills and treated myself to a new lip combo. The Huda lip stain is like a felt tip pen. Obsessed. It’s so good, hydrating and stays on for hours. If you haven’t shopped the Sephora sale yet and are in need of a new lippie try this combo out.

CHRISTA : Can you believe this serving tray is from Amazon? Under $30, such a pretty upgrade for your summer entertaining. The only problem is choosing from the 10 patterns that are available! Generously sized at about 16″ x 12″, built in handles, easy to clean. Makes a great Mother’s Day gift or hostess gift. (Shown in the “Multi-D” pattern – my favorite.)
