What We’re Watching
CHRISTA : We just finished Severance (Apple TV+). Can’t wait for season two!! Imagine having yourself “divided” so that your work self knows nothing about your home self, and vice versa. Like you’re two completely different people. (Based on the day you had at work, you might think this sounds like a great idea!) This is the idea behind the mystery/drama Severance on Apple TV. Starring Adam Scott and Patricia Arquette and directed by Ben Stiller, this is one you don’t want to miss! (The critics agree!) Based on the season one finale, season two will be even better.
MEGAN: Just out on HBO Max is Julia, an eight episode limited series about Julia Child and how she pioneered the television cooking show industry. Four episodes in and I’m hooked. The show is well cast and Rotten Tomatoes reported a 100% approval rating with an average rating of 8.3/10. Fun fact: Daniel Goldfarb produced Julia and The Marvelous Mrs. Mazel. You will definitely see strong, successful female lead character similarities.

What We’re Shopping For
CHRISTA : I’m searching for a new hairdryer. Can you help? I currently have this one by Drybar and it’s a few years old. The heat settings are limited and it feels like it’s starting to run too hot lately. Time for a new one before I really damage my hair! I was considering this one by T3 because it looks like it has more heat settings to choose from. Does anyone have it and can you tell me what you think? Or do you have another blow-dry brush you love? Leave your thoughts in the comments or email me. Thanks!
3 Under $30
MEGAN : Why use a Vitamin C Serum? Vitamin C serums are known for their antioxidant and anti-aging properties. Their benefits include leaving skin with a brighter, more radiant appearance. They can also reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation for a more even skin tone. However, Vitamin C Serums have a definite shelf life (which is why you often see them in brown or darker bottles – sunlight is bad for them). If you don’t already have a Vit C Serum in your bag of tricks, try one of these under $30 to see the benefits. (click images to shop)
Save Vs. Splurge
CHRISTA : I love crossbody bags, especially in the summer. It just seems right to travel lighter when you’re out enjoying the warmer weather. These two bags are great options, and are still big enough to hold all your essentials. If you’re looking for a bag to carry every day, I would opt for the real leather splurge on the left for it’s durability. But if you want to buy something to add a fun pop of color to an outfit or just have for occasions when you’re out for a date night, going to a concert or having dinner with your girlfriends, then the save option might be right for you. Both bags are about the same size.
- The Tory Burch bag is real leather, measures 9.75″ x 7″, has top zip closure, adjustable chain-and-leather crossbody 21″ strap, exterior turnlock-flap pocket and interior zip and wall pockets. The strap is not removable. ($498)
- The Lola Mae bag on the right is quality faux leather, measures 9.25″ x 6.5” and has adjustable/removable strap (so you can customize it with a cute bag strap if you prefer). The listing doesn’t show the strap length, but the customer images give you an idea of how long it will be. The tassel is also removable and the bag can be carried as a shoulder bag, crossbody or clutch. This bag has 1,950 five star reviews on Amazon! ($21.95)

MEGAN : It’s no secret I’ve been rocking the white sneaker look this spring and I did a lot of research before I bit the bullet. The splurge pair I tried is the cult fav Alexander McQueen white sneaker (left). They have a thicker sole, clean lines (no markings) and a hefty price tag ($580). I tried them on and they were great, but my budget did not agree. Let the search begin. A few clicks later I was on Amazon and these Steve Madden beauties were in my cart. I must say after wearing them on the college tour circuit (a true test if there ever was one) they are very comfortable and give the same vibe for a fraction of the price ($75).

Dyson Hair dryer is a game changer! I love mine.
Thanks! 💕
I love the Rao’s sauce with anything!!
I have the Drybar hair dryer too and I have enjoyed it. Obsessed with my Dyson Air Wrap though. The Drybar gets my hair smoother but I love the air wrap attachments. It is not a frugal item though!
Thanks. My daughter has an air wrap and loves it too!!
