WHAT WE’RE WATCHING
CHRISTA : Have you finished Stranger Things (season 4 part 2) and are left wanting more? Check out this list of 12 shows that will give you that same Stranger Things vibe. (Is it wrong that I’ve seen seven of the shows on the list?!) My recommendations include I Am Not Okay With This (Netflix), Archive 81 (Netflix), Yellowjackets (Showtime) and definitely Severance (Apple TV+) if you haven’t seen it yet.
MEGAN : My teenage son convinced me to watch Them (Prime). I’m not much for scary movies or shows but this one is good. There are a few jump scares but it’s more of a “Stephen King” kinda scary. Them is a series, set in 1953. It tells the story of a black family that moves from North Carolina to Los Angeles and into an all white neighborhood. No spoilers here, but you must watch to see how it unfolds.
NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE
Early shopping has started for Icon and Ambassador cardholders. You can check your status on the Nordstrom site. If you’re not a cardholder, start shopping next Friday, July 15.
There is a lot happening in the Nordstrom sale, with more than 6,000 items to choose from. To make shopping a little easier, we shared our NSale wish lists with you last week and are sharing them again (below) – be sure to check them out for some of our favorite sweaters, shoes and jackets on sale. We also created an entire post with our shopping tips. Today we are sharing some of our picks in the home and beauty categories.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale | Christa’s Home Finds

Row one: Travel gear by Beis is super cute and affordable – it’s also perfect for the new college student heading off in the fall.
Row two: A few items for getting healthy! The towel set includes a yoga mat towel and coordinating face towel (here it is in a palm print). The Vitamix blender is the best one for making great smoothies – this specially priced bundle includes two 20 oz. cups with to go lids. The 32 oz water bottle is a necessity because you can never drink enough water.
Row three: A few new scents for your home – and also perfect when you’re stocking up on gifts! I love my Pura diffuser – use their app to monitor the scent level, adjust the strength and reorder easily. (Here’s another set with different scents.)

Row one: Westman Atelier has a cult following. The Nsale is a great way to introduce some of their products into your routine. Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Lip Kit is the most universal color. Everyone should have a Pillow Talk lip stick in their purse.
Row two: The Oliplex trio is a great deal if you are a regular user and need to restock or if you just want to try it. If you don’t love it, I know about two thousand college girls that will take it off your hands. Benefit “Gimme Brow” is my desert island product. Literally, if I was on a desert island and could only have one item I’d forgo the toothbrush or bug spray for this brow tint. It’s that good. Le Labo trio of purse size scents…um, yes please. I bought these last year. Perfect for travel or keeping in your purse to make your friends jealous. Santal 33 is the MOST compliments I’ve ever gotten wearing any perfume.
Row three: These three items are on my wish list. I don’t own them but they come highly recommended from the beauty goddesses on the interwebs. Brown spots be gone! I love a big pump of cleanser and the Le Labo Santal hand soap will be in my bathroom by my sink. Reserved for my use only.

Summer Berry Tart

Equipment
- mixer
- 1 sheet of parchment paper
Ingredients
- 3 cups mixed berries - I used strawberries, blue berries and black berries Peaches would also be delicious!
- 1 box puff pastry dough - defrosted (both sheets) from freezer section
- 1 box (8oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 8 oz container mascarpone cheese
- 1/4 cup cream (or milk - I used half and half)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- put the parchment paper on a jelly roll pan (or cookie sheet)
- unroll the puff pastry onto the pan, press the seams of the 2 sheets together so they cover the whole pan. bake as instructed on the box.
- while the puff pastry is baking (mine took 15 min), rinse the berries and cut the stems off.
- make the frosting: mix all remaining ingredients in the mixer until smooth.
- once the puff pastry comes out of the oven let it cool completely (30 min). then spread the frosting over the puff pastry leaving the edges bare. Decorate with the fruit.
- put in the fridge until almost ready to serve. take out of fridge 15 min before serving to come back to room temp. sprinkle powered sugar over the top right before serving. YUMMMMM!

It’s a busy shopping time! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in full swing for cardholders. We shared our shopping tips and our wish list picks to help you get started. If you are not a cardholder, shopping begins July 15. The sale ends July 31.
