Thank You for Walking & Talking With Us!

One Last Walk & Talk…
As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Style Among Friends began with two friends walking through the pandemic, chatting about everything from our latest shopping finds and favorite shows to decorating ideas and whatever else was on our minds. Those walks (and talks!) eventually turned into StyleAmongFriends.com and our weekly Walk & Talk. Fast-forward a few years, countless posts, and more shopping recommendations than we care to admit, and it’s time to hang up our blogging hats.
But before we go, we want to thank each of you for coming along on this walk with us. From our very first outfit post to holiday checklists, favorite recipes, gift guides, and all the little things in between, we have truly LOVED sharing it all with you. Thank you for reading, commenting, and cheering us on as we stepped outside our comfort zones and ventured into the world of blogging. You made this little adventure more fun than we ever could have imagined.
So, this isn’t really goodbye! We’re still the same two friends who love a good Amazon find and a long walk, we just won’t be writing about it every week. Thank you for being part of Style Among Friends. It’s been so much fun having you along!
With much gratitude,
Christa & Megan

What We’re Watching
MEGAN : My husband and I took advantage of half price movie night (aka empty nest date night) at our local theater. We saw Heart of the Beast – and honestly 1h45min of Brad Pitt and a dog was not enough. Great flick for the whole fam, just a heads up that it’s sad. Not in the “Old Yeller” way, if you know what I mean – but an emotional adventure movie. The dog 100% steals the show.
CHRISTA : If you haven’t watched The Other Bennett Sister yet, you have plenty of time before the release of the three-part Christmas special. Fans of period dramas like Bridgerton will love this one. Inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, follow along as Mary Bennet discovers herself in a new role. She’s a delight to watch and I know you’ll enjoy this. This is a series you don’t want to miss, ladies!
What We’re Loving
MEGAN : Did you know that Quince has petite sizes? I LOVE Quince. They have literally everything from luggage to cashmere to jewelry. Here are a few of my favorites.

CHRISTA : Get a jumpstart on your holidays with the amazing new selection of partywear from Boden. So many beautiful dresses, skirts, suits and jumpsuits to pick from. How will one ever choose? Here are some of my favorites.

The Short List: Getting RED-y for the Holidays
“The Short List” is ten things we found, five from each of us, that we’d probably be texting each other anyway. So let us share them with you, too! Good finds, smart buys, and things actually worth adding to cart!
CHRISTA : Get ready for the holidays! Whether it’s something for yourself, something to check off your gift list or something for entertaining. Here are a few of my favorites for the season.
- My favorite Nordstrom Eco Moonlight pajamas are available in holiday prints. These are THE ONLY pajamas in my drawer. Love, love, love them.
- This Baublebar tote bag comes in so many fun colors and patterns. Grab one for yourself and one for every girl on your gift list. We’ve been saying it for years…everyone loves a personalized gift! Stripes and solids, personalized with 2-3 initials or a full name, in three sizes. I have the large size and use it for my mahjong tote.
- A pair of these Boden holiday plaid heels will instantly turn any outfit into a holiday classic. Pair these with a red cashmere sweater + your favorite denim, and you’re ready for your annual favorite things, book club or mahjong holiday get together.
- Who doesn’t love sampling new beauty products? Sephora Favorites gift sets make the perfect gift for any beauty junkie on your list. Or, grab a set for yourself when you’re looking for a new lipstick or perfume scent. My favorites are always the perfume sampler sets.
- And, last on my list…a little holiday fun for your mahjong table. This mat by Mahjong by SI is a great quality (their neoprene has a smooth finish), plus it comes in three neoprene sizes and one leatherette size. Shipping is fast from the US. Check them out for hundreds of mahjong mat ideas.

MEGAN : Sometimes all you need in a pop of red to make an outfit feel styled. I don’t wear a lot of red, so I like to add it in my accessories. These are a few of my favorite ways to add red to an outfit. Perfect timing for the holidays!
- Adidas Spezial sneakers, I have walked 20k steps in these on vacation and didn’t get mad at them. Wear them with leopard jeans — chef’s kiss!
- Red cardigans make jeans and a white tee an outfit. Perfect to throw over you shoulders, tie around the waist or wear it over a sundress.
- Who doesn’t love a red purse? I use mine the month of December every year and for the week of Valentine’s.
- I’ve been saying it for a whole year, bandana print is having a moment. This scarf is the perfect entree into the trend and and under $25 it’s a fair investment.
- Red cashmere socks could be the ultimate lux gift item. Perfect with loafers and jeans or your slippers and jammies.
Two bonus items because I just couldn’t stop with the red.
- Dorothy was onto something with the red shoes. These ballet flats are very comfortable, true to size and a closet work horse.
- No list of RED is complete with out a red lipstick. When all else fails and you are driving the carpool in your pjs throw on sunglass and a big red lippy.

Just for Fun
MEGAN : This song played at the end of Heart of the Beast. I might love it more than the original, I’ve got it on Spotify repeat. Check out Stephen Wilson Jr. This guy has a degree in Microbiology, is a Golden Glove champion and has written songs for Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins and many more. What an insanely talented person.
CHRISTA : It’s that time of year already! Time to start thinking about ordering a Christmas tree. For years, we’ve had a real tree delivered right to our door, and honestly, it’s one holiday chore I’m happy to cross off the list. No more wrestling a tree off the roof of the car, hauling it up the stairs, or spending forever trying to get it to stand up straight! We’ve been ordering from North Star Christmas Trees, and they’ve been wonderful. Not only will they deliver your tree, but they can also set it up and even come back to remove it after the holidays. The trees are always beautiful, and the service couldn’t be friendlier. If you love having a real Christmas tree but could do without all the heavy lifting (and frustration!), this is one holiday shortcut worth knowing about!
