Now Let’s Walk & Talk!
Welcome to Walk & Talk, a weekly hangout for women over 50 who love good finds and great outfits. It’s all about easy looks, favorite things, and the kind of recommendations you’d text to a friend.
CHRISTA : Summer has a way of reminding us that the simplest moments are often the best ones. If you’ve been meaning to get back into a walking routine, now’s the perfect time. Just set that alarm a little earlier, lace up your sneakers before the heat rolls in, and enjoy a peaceful start to the day. Your body, and your mood, will thank you.
MEGAN : Do you feel like summer is half over and you’ve haven’t done all the things yet? Set a weekly date night with your spouse. Dinner, drinks or a free concert. Do the same thing with your friends. Text five girlfriends and ask them each to meet for lunch, pickleball, a walk or mahjong. Schedule them once a week. By the end of the summer you will have had a full and exciting social calendar.

What We’re Watching
MEGAN : You know I ‘m a fan of a high school coming of age story, this one must have slipped by in the early aughts when I was knee deep in child raising. One Tree Hill is on Prime (all seasons!). Each episode is about 45 minutes making it a perfect bedtime story. Now tell me this are you team Nathan or team Lucas?
CHRISTA : I can’t believe it took me this long to discover Call the Midwife on Netflix! I have literally been telling everyone to watch this show. If you’re looking for your next binge-worthy series, there are 15 seasons available (and I was thrilled to learn there are even more to look forward to, including Seasons16, plus a film and prequel series). The show begins in the late 1950s in London’s East End, where a group of nurses and nuns care for the women and families of a poor community still rebuilding after World War II. It’s heartwarming, inspiring, and full of unforgettable characters you’ll quickly grow to love. Best of all, with so many seasons, you’ve got enough episodes to keep you happily entertained all summer, and plenty to download for your next trip!
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : Suns out and temps are rising…this calls for easy breezy dresses. This one is a great Amazon find. Super affordable, washes well, fits TTS. Perfect for the beach, poolside, amusement parks, sightseeing. I prefer it with my favorite FitFlop sneakers, but works with all your sandals too.
Pro tip: These sneakers have been best sellers on the blog for a few years now. They’ve taken me over 20,000 steps at Disney with no foot pain, too! For $45, you really do need a pair.

MEGAN : My OOTD is also brought to you by Amazon. The quality of these 100% cotton pants is amazing -they are not see through! The vest comes in multiple colors and also looks cute with white jeans. Just when I was about to give up on clothes from Amazon they come through with these winners.
Fit tip: pants and vest fit true to size.

What We’re Loving
MEGAN : I love a woven, wicker, or rattan purse for summer, when I saw this colorful knit purse at the GAP I knew it was going to my summer bag. The colors are vibrant and go with everything. The bag is fully lined in white cotton and has a few pockets for stashing things. This bag is currently on sale for
CHRISTA : When the warm weather hits, I swap my CRZ Yoga leggings for these CRZ Yoga skorts. I own it in three colors, they’re that good. If you need something lighter and cooler for your morning walk and talk, give these a try – only $32, too!

What We’re Styling: Summer Date Night
Each week, we share easy outfit ideas inspired by real-life plans and places. Think comfortable, put-together looks you can recreate with what you already own, plus a few fun add-to-cart options if you want to update your closet.
CHRISTA : This one shoulder FARM Rio dress stops me every time I’m scrolling. The side ruching is so flattering, the linen fabric is a perfect summer option. Pair it with some raffia sandals and a cute little raffia summer tote for your next night out. And this is one you’ll definitely want for your summer beach trip!

MEGAN :Have you scheduled a date night with your husband yet? Text him! Then order this cutie patootie linen tank dress from Banana Republic. It also comes in white. A timeless classic that will be in your closet forever. Did I mention that she’s on sale?

Just for Fun
MEGAN : In the late 90s Kate Spade bags were a status symbol. My work friends and I coveted them. For my birthday this year one of my friends from my working days sent me this book written by Elyce Arons, Katy’s best friend. Very nostalgic and a great read if you are/were a fan.

CHRISTA : Have you ever wanted to invite friends over but looked around and thought about how much work it would be to get ready? Has that ever stopped you from extending an invite? Then, like Megan and I, you’ll appreciate this article from Real Simple, “Why We All Need to Start Lowering Our Get-Together Standards.” It’s a nice gentle reminder that no one cares if you have a few dishes in the sink, a laundry basket that needs to go upstairs, or a few clumps of dog hair along the baseboard! We’re all just glad for the invite and (especially) the time spent with friends.
So send the invite, stay off Pinterest, and just “host-as-you-are.” Grab a premade Trader Joe’s mini-sheet cake and bottle of wine — and settle in to enjoy the company you’re with.
