What We’re Watching
MEGAN : Joe Goldberg is back in NYC for another season of You. The fifth and final season of You dropped all ten episodes on April 24. No spoilers here but THE ENDING!
CHRISTA : Good American Family (Hulu) retells the real-life story of Natalia Grace, an orphan whose adoptive family questions her true age. Imogen Faith Reid gives a standout performance as Natalia (but the other main actors give disappointing performances). The story is gripping and will keep you guessing right up to the end. I would have preferred watching a documentary focused solely on Natalia’s horrifying experience. This family didn’t deserve an equal voice in the dramatized version of the story.

What We’re Loving
MEGAN : Last week Christa and I did some blog research (aka shopping) for summer sandals. While we were supposed to just be doing research, I might have found the unicorn sandals for summer. The platform gives me just enough height, the fisherman style is the preppy vibe I’m going for, the color is my favorite neutral and they are VIONICS – my favorite comfort shoe brand. Delivery this weekend – check stories in a few days for a full report once I have them in my hands on my feet.

CHRISTA : Loving this new toiletry bag from Amazon — I grabbed the large glam size in off-white and it fits everything. It opens flat so you can actually see what’s inside (no digging!). TSA-friendly, tons of colors and sizes. Highly recommend it if your travel gear needs a refresh!
What We’re Reading in May
MEGAN : Wild Dark Shore A Novel by Charlotte McConaghy, a NYT bestseller, will keep you up at night turning the pages. A thriller, a mystery, a story that peels back like layers of an onion. I’m listening to the Audible version, narrated by an ensemble cast, makes for great listening — easier to follow along. Wild Dark Shore is a new book, just came out in April 2025.
CHRISTA : My book pick for May is Open House by Katie Sise. I discovered her book The Vacation Rental through Amazon First Reads and loved it, so I am hoping for another good thriller!
From the Publisher: “At times when I’ve wanted an escape, I’ll find myself browsing over-the-top real estate listings, or I’ll binge-watch the latest real estate or home renovation show. After reading the novel Open House, I’m not sure I’ll ever walk into a new home without thinking of this story and how quickly I turned the pages, utterly captivated.”
Random Stuff We Like
MEGAN : Have you heard that the most dangerous thing in your kitchen might not be a knife? I was served this article from Food & Wine, then I fell down the rabbit hole. Sharing what I replaced my plastic cutting boards with, been using them for about a month and they are awesome.
CHRISTA : Sale alert! This dress is currently 40% off at Nordstrom (reg. $199, sale $119). The blue color, the embroidered details, and the flattering v-neck sold me! If you’re on the hunt for something to wear for a spring or summer event, this one might be just what you’re looking for (and at a great price, too!)!
