Now Let’s Walk & Talk!
Welcome to Walk & Talk, a weekly hangout for women over 50 who love good finds and great outfits. It’s all about easy looks, favorite things, and the kind of recommendations you’d text to a friend.
CHRISTA : You know you’re over 50 when comfort starts winning…every time. But let’s be honest, that doesn’t mean you should give up on style. This week I’m sharing some of my favorite sandals, a mix of tried-and-true pairs I’ve worn for years and a few new finds. Every single one is comfortable, easy, and still feels pulled together.
MEGAN : It’s sandal season, time for a pedicure! I found the perfect “baby pink” polish from OPI that will look elegant all summer long. Check out our sandal edits, between the two of us we’ve rounded up the best of the best so you don’t have to. From comfort, stylish to dress up we’ve got ’em all covered.

What We’re Watching
MEGAN : My family loves The Office, so when Rooster (starring Steve Carell) popped up on our watch feed, we were all excited. This limited series is a comedy set on a college campus. It’s about Steve Carell’s relationship with his adult daughter. My husband thought it was a riff on Old School but not as raunchy. Watch on HBO Max.
CHRISTA : Shrinking (AppleTV) wrapped up season 3 a few weeks ago, and if you’re not watching, here’s another plug to let you know that you might be missing the best show on TV right now. I know, that’s a pretty bold statement, but trust me! Each season just gets better! Originally written to be a three season series, the producers have confirmed there will be a season four (and probably five and six). Woo hoo!
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : This is what I wore last weekend to a going away dinner for a sweet friend. Michelle – if you’re reading this from the balcony of your new condo, I hope you’re enjoying your coffee with a breathtaking sunrise and I hope you have a glorious day planned in your new home! Miss you already!
And, for my party outfit, this denim dress from WHBM is so versatile. I do warn you, there is absolutely no stretch in the denim. Other than that, it’s a great option for when you want to look pulled together but not put in tons of effort…and let’s face it, isn’t that most days?!
Fit tip: For WHBM, I usually size up. In this dress, I would definitely size up since it’s a slim fit with zero wiggle room. Comes in regular and petite.

MEGAN : Chore jackets (mine is currently on clearance under $50) are having a moment this spring. I’m wearing mine every day it gets below 70 degrees. I’m also reaching for these cotton “Easy” pants from Gap. These pants are the perfect denim alternative for spring. One thing I always try to do in the spring is add a pop of color to finish off my outfit. The red woven flats (or sneakers or Mary Janes) are the perfect statement for this spring mom on the go outfit.
Fit tip: The Gap Easy Pant comes in linen, crepe and cotton. It also comes multiple colors, tall, petite and regular.

What We’re Loving
MEGAN : Sometimes when you wish for something hard enough it comes true! I’ve been mixing OPI Funny Bunny and OPI Bubble Bath for the perfect light pink manicure for a few years. OPI just released OPI’m a Bubble Bunny — they did the work for us! Since we are talking all about sandals today – why not treat yourself to a new polish for your toes.

CHRISTA : I can see why people get obsessed with their Mahjong tables. So many pretty things! Creating your table is like putting an outfit together, starting with a few basics that mix-and-match and then adding in the fun stuff for style.
I spent weeks searching for pieces I loved, and here’s what I put together for myself. The clear scallop racks were a splurge but they’re my “basics” so no matter what else I add to my Mahjong collection, these racks will match. I opted to start with Amazon tiles while I decide what I really want–these are affordable, so pretty and colorful, plus they are extra easy to read. (Eventually I might upgrade. Here are the tiles on my wish list but they aren’t available until June.) Who’s up for a game? Seriously…

What We’re Styling: Summer Sandal Round-Up
Each week, we share easy outfit ideas inspired by real-life plans and places. Think comfortable, put-together looks you can recreate with what you already own, plus a few fun add-to-cart options if you want to update your closet.
CHRISTA : I’m (finally) embracing comfort for my feet – but no one says that doesn’t mean they can’t still be stylish! The FitFlop platform sandals were a favorite last year, and I love them this slip on style in the tan color. And yes, I’m sharing two clear sandals! The block heel by SCHUTZ has been a favorite for many years and works with your entire wardrobe (that’s why it’s also perfect for travel). But last year I discovered the clear wedges and I love them with jeans/pants, especially wide leg/flare styles.

MEGAN : I’m a fan of a nude/tan sandal. Maybe because I’m short and I feel like they make my legs look the tiniest bit longer. As a woman over 50 that has suffered from plantar fasciitis in the past I will not subject myself to uncomfortable sandals or shoes. The Kork-Ease platform sandal is the highest heel I’ll wear and honestly, they are really comfortable.

Just for Fun
MEGAN : Do you sell your gently used clothes on Poshmark or ThredUp? Do you shop the resale/thrift sights? I do and apparently I’m not alone.
ThredUp’s 2026 Resale Report. “In 2025, the U.S. secondhand market grew nearly 4X faster than the broader retail clothing market.”Read the full article here. I am captivated by the thrifting concept, I can see this having a major impact on the retail industry. Gen Z is all about thrifting, they go on thrifting “dates”, they have theme parties and buy each other thrifted outfits to wear. Just something for fun about the “business” of fashion.

CHRISTA : A few weeks ago I told you about the dark spot cream I’ve been using…and I have to say, I’m actually seeing a difference. The spots aren’t totally gone, but they’re definitely fading, which feels like a win. So when this article (“6 Skin-Care Mistakes That Are Making Your Dark Spots Worse“) popped into my inbox, I was immediately like, wait…am I using this stuff the right way? It’s a quick read, but worth it just to make sure your “miracle potion” is really doing its job and not accidentally working against you.
