weekly walk and talk

Welcome to the Walk & Talk

Welcome to Walk & Talk, a weekly hangout for women over 50 who love good finds and great outfits. It’s all about easy looks, favorite things, and the kind of recommendations you’d text to a friend.

CHRISTA : You don’t need a whole new wardrobe. You just need a fresh eye. Try the sweater a new way. Pair the dress with sneakers. Roll the sleeves. Add the bold necklace. Style is often less about buying more and more about seeing differently. I hope our weekly Walk & Talk outfit pictures and collages inspire you to style something you already own in a fresh way, or maybe try a new piece you hadn’t considered buying before. We’d love to hear what has inspired you lately! Leave us a comment!

MEGAN : Need a little outfit inspiration for spring? Pick a color and go from there. Cloud Dancer, a creamy white, is the Pantone “color of the year”. Go through your closet, find anything in shades of white or cream and find ways to wear it. Cream cashmere sweater or sweatshirt with jeans, ecru barrel jeans with a striped tee, an off white utility jacket with army green pants — you get the idea. Use the color trend to dress for the season.

What We’re Watching

MEGAN : Netflix just served me season four of Lincoln Lawyer. Not my favorite season, but I still devoured it in one weekend. More of the same…Mickey solves a murder mystery but this time HE was the wrongfully accused. Netflix just renewed for a season five.

CHRISTA : I completely missed The Last Thing He Told Me (Apple TV) the first time around. But once I started seeing all the buzz for season two, I decided to circle back. It is based on the bestselling novel by Laura Dave. Jennifer Garner’s character is suddenly trying to piece together her life when her husband disappears. There’s plenty of suspense, family drama, and secrets unfolding…it is the kind of show that makes you say, “Just one more episode,” and suddenly it is way past bedtime.

What We’re Wearing

CHRISTA : Casual outfits don’t have to mean giving up style, especially over 50, when comfort is non-negotiable. A relaxed sweatshirt paired with ankle-length jeans (my personal favorite) and classic sneakers is an easy formula that feels just as good as it looks. It’s the kind of outfit you can throw on and still feel completely pulled together.

Fit tip: Size up in the Kizik Milan sneakers. The Boden sweatshirt is sold out in most sizes, so I’ve linked a few sweatshirts and sweaters that have the same vibe.

MEGAN : Here is what I’m wearing to the museums in Europe. Comfortable gray slacks, VERY comfortable shoes, a blazer cardigan and ALWAYS a silk scarf. I don’t know why but a silk scarf always makes me feel very “Euro.”

What We’re Loving

MEGAN : I spent a lot of time researching, ordering and trying different shoes for my trip to Europe. As a woman over 50 that has suffered from plantar fasciitis in the past, comfortable shoes are the MOST IMPORTANT part of my outfit planning. I considered just wearing my workout sneakers for the whole trip, but that’s not the look I was going for. (Don’t worry I am bringing one pair of sneakers!) After seeing @andtwogirls (check them out on IG!), sing the praises of the Tony Bianco loafers I knew I had to try them. You guys, these loafers are under $200 and they are the softest leather and dare I say cushion-y. I can’t sing their praises loud enough.

CHRISTA : I’ve been seeing green utility jackets in almost every store. I shared this one last week, and didn’t want you to miss it. It’s such a versatile piece for spring/summer/fall, so I thought I’d create a little “capsule-type” wardrobe around it to show you how many ways it can be styled. I’m sharing four ways I’d style it, but you could make even more combos for endless looks. It’s the third piece every outfit is calling for right now! Honestly, I could probably like with just these pieces in my closet (don’t tell my husband!) — each casual look is perfect for everyday.

  • 1 jacket
  • 2 bottoms (1 ankle length, 1 full length wide leg)
  • 4 tops (1 blouse, 1 t-shirt, 1 elevated sweatshirt and 1 lightweight sweater)
  • 2 shoes (sneakers and ballet flats)
  • 2 crossbody bags

Fit tips: Many of these pieces, including the jacket, are available in petite and plus sizes. For the striped t-shirt, size up.

What We’re Styling: “Cloud Dancer,” the 2026 Color of the Year

Each week, we share easy outfit ideas inspired by real-life plans and places. Think comfortable, put-together looks you can recreate with what you already own, plus a few fun add-to-cart options if you want to update your closet.

CHRISTA : If you’re looking for a little color inspiration, maybe try Cloud Dancer, Pantone’s 2026 Color of the Year. It’s more of a natural, creamy, airy white that feels fresh and effortless. This Nordstrom sweatshirt captures the look perfectly and pairs easily with just about anything. Think brown, white, ecru, denim, or black. It’s “casual chic,” which to me means a step up from everyday athleisure, but still incredibly comfortable for errands and work from home.

MEGAN : Nothing makes a short girl look taller than a column of color. I love a one color outfit, not only because it makes me took taller but it takes the guessing out of getting dressed. Pull out all of your tonal pieces, blues or grays or creamy whites and pair them together. A new inspiration for getting dressed and making outfits.

Just for Fun

MEGAN : If you have the opportunity to see Stereophonic at your local theater (the Broadway tour is making its way around the country!), I highly recommend it. Five time Tony award winning (including Best Play 2024) – takes place during the 1970s and is a fictional telling of Fleetwood Mac recording their (last?) album. Don’t tell your husband, but it’s three hours long so maybe get that coffee before you go.

CHRISTA : Here’s a beautiful piece by Lady Gaga that I’m sure you’ll recognize!
