Top 5 Among Friends | 02.03.2023

It’s been a whole year of walk and talks, selfies, shopping and top 5 lists! If you have been here with us from the beginning, we can’t thank you enough. If you joined us along the way, we’re so glad you’re here!

Things look a little different on the blog. Expect us once a week in your inbox as we merge our “Tuesday topic” with your favorite “Friday walk and talk.” It’s everything we like to share among friends wrapped up in one blog/newsletter (can we call it a blog-letter?) to start your weekend.

And check out the new “Shop” link at the menu above. It’s a link to all of our favorite products and the top products you love in one easy to shop place. Let us know what you think of the format changes.

And to celebrate, we’re having a contest!

Enter to win the VERY hard-to-find lululemon belt bag we love so much in a beautiful spring blue color, part of a gift package filled with some of our favorite products.

Walk and Talk (and Top 5)

It’s TOP 5 WEEK as we walk and talk! This week on our walk, we’re talking about your top five bestsellers from January — we love seeing what was a hit (and a miss!) on the blog. And we’re sharing our five favorite finds of the month, too.

In case you missed it, here are the Best of December.

Our top five every month are things we have purchased and love. We’d buy any of these again and again, and we think you’ll love them, too.

What We’re Watching

CHRISTA : Last week, vampires! This week, zombies! I’m currently watching The Last of Us (HBO Max). It’s zombies, the end of the world, good vs. evil — so of course I’m watching! A little predictable? Yes. But with it’s own twist on zombies. And since The Walking Dead ended, this fills the gap in my Sunday night zombie viewing, so I’ll keep watching! If you’re a fan of zombie shows, you should check out the best zombie TV shows ranked by Rotten Tomatoes.

MEGAN : My husband was out of town for a few days so I got free regin on the remote control. I stumbled on The Established Home with Jean Stoffer and gobbled up season one like a bowl of M&Ms. Jean’s aesthetic is old British meets American. She is delightful on camera, like having coffee with a friend and talking about design. Season two is out, with new episodes on Fridays. I’m going to miss her when it’s over.

What’s in My Amazon Cart

MEGAN : This is very random but in the spirit of loving the “what’s in my bag” posts, here is a peek at what’s in my Amazon Cart.

Something Just For Fun

CHRISTA : If you loved the book as much as we did, be sure to check out this first look at Daisy Jones & the Six, including an original song/debut album, all happening March 3 on Prime Video. And isn’t Riley Keough a perfect choice as the lead!

Something for the Guys

CHRISTA : Have your guys tried DeadSoxy? Premium dress socks that stay in place and won’t slide down. Husband-recommended and son-approved — especially the college collection! Great gift idea!

deadsoxy

MEGAN : Love these socks! They are the perfect Valentine treat for your college son, husband or both! Ooooo, they would be a super cute graduation gift for a boy heading off to college, too.

Something You Need (Trust Us!)

MEGAN : I got this luxurious hand cream by Soft Services. It’s their Theraplush – Overnight Repair Treatment. My cuticles have hang nails, my hands have been so dry. Two uses and I’m practically a hand model. Kidding, but it is really good. I bought it because I loved the bottle/applicator but I’m staying for the cream. AND they sell the refill pods, you don’t have to buy the bottle each time. Good for the environment.

The nightly treatment that cushion-coats hands in retinol and colloidal oatmeal, restoring skin, cuticles, and nails while you sleep. Housed in a reusable case with airless pump, designed to live bedside as the last step in your routine. The whipped, dense cream gloves hands in a soft, waxy protective layer. Retinol resurfaces areas with uneven color or texture, while colloidal oatmeal soothes dry, chapped skin and damaged cuticles.

CHRISTA : I just ordered this — and had no idea Megan has secretly been trying it already! Scary how we are starting to think alike! I’ll pass on my review in a few weeks!

This may seem like a stupid question as you both know streaming technology alot more than me …for YouTube, I assume you can watch this on a smart TV …as opposed to an iPad?
    How do I do this?
Thanks …seems like alot of good stuff is on YouTube lately …and I know is this free (for right now) πŸ™‚
    Stay warm this weekend! Barbara

Hi Barbara, Yes you can view lots of great stuff on YouTube both on your smart TV and your iPad. On the iPad just go to YouTube and search for what you’re looking for (i.e. music video, how to change a light fixture, 20 min yoga class). Your smart TV should have a “button” like Netflix, just click on that and do the same!
