ICYMI…don’t forget to check out the February style post, HERE.

Something New from Megan: The Cardigan

From the Lady Jacket to a Grandpa Sweater, the cardigan is having a moment. This fashion find is not new or cutting edge, perhaps she’s so popular because the cardigan is the perfect layer. Not too bulky or warm but just enough to keep the chill away. Here is a selection of my favorites this season. If you add one to your closet you’ll wear it all spring, summer and through the fall. Right now, toss it on over jeans and a tee or wear it over a dress that’s a little too summery for April. In the summer your cardigan will keep you comfortable in the A/C and in the fall as the temps drop in the evenings you’ll be glad to have your trusty cardigan to drape over your shoulders.

Something New from Christa: Style Tips for Graduation

Four complete outfits just in time for graduation season (and all the spring events). If you’re celebrating as a proud mom, aunt, godmother or friend, try one of these looks for the ceremony and pictures. As much as I love a solid black dress, I’m steering away from all black for graduation so I don’t blend in with my grad’s cap and gown in photos. Same for wearing his school color–unless you get just the right shade, you’ll either clash or blend in. Simple is best when celebrating your grad!

My son is graduating from University of Oklahoma. It’ll be warm by mid-May so the lightweight fabric of this Rails dress will be perfect. I just need to get my legs tanned and my toes pedicured! LOL!

And you can find more of my picks for graduation dresses HERE, too.

And if you’re looking for a white dress for grad party season (and all summer long!), Megan found a great selection at GAP.

What Megan’s Wearing

Early spring calls for layers. I’ve been wearing my jeans on repeat, with cardigans or light jackets as my third piece. Bonus points for warmth in the extra layer.

I am so ready for sandals and flip flops but until then I’ve been living in fashion sneakers. Cute, casual and super comfortable makes them an everyday winner.

I wore this outfit to my book club, the all black column of color is the perfect base for this jazzy vest with bows. I need to work on more ways to style this vest, I’d really like to work it into my warmer (weather) spring wardrobe.

What Christa’s Wearing

My white jeans are out in full force! And I’m loving them paired with bright, colorful tops, like these from Avara. Just like Megan’s third piece, a colorful or unique top can elevate your everyday look.

Spring is here and the dresses are in full bloom! This style from Gibsonlook is my absolute favorite to wear, and you’ll be seeing a lot of it. Find something that works for you, take note of what you love about it, and use that info when you’re shopping. For me, my dress formula is something about 36″ long, elastic or drawstring waist and some sort of sleeve. You’ll eliminate a lot of duds and be able to focus on what works for you.

I was happily surprised with this white tee from Lands’ End. I’m not really a t-shirt girl, so this is a nice alternative to give the same look. It’s less fitted than a t-shirt and has some nice extra details to make it more feminine. And I took the whole thing up a notch by adding a sparkly sandal.

The colorful top is the attention grabber here, but can we take a moment for these jeans? We’ve been singing the praises of the Itty Bitty Bootcut Jeans by Wit & Wisdom since we started the blog. Legs for days, ladies! Plus, they have the “ab-solution” technology to make them more slimming. It’s a win all around. How can one pair of jeans do so much?!
