Welcome to the first edition of “A Month in Style”. We’re sharing our outfit looks from the past month, with links and tips to make getting dressed easier. These are outfits we wear a lot, kind of our uniform. Get inspired to shop your closet or add a few things to make it easier to get dressed each day.
To help make your clothes shopping easier, each month we’re sharing a roundup of outfits we wore. In this monthly edit you’ll find tips and links so you can create similar looks for yourself with items you already own, plus a few new items we think you’ll love.
We’ll also be sharing a favorite new fashion find or two–like a new trend, a save vs. splurge, a collection of accessories. Check back every month to see what’s new in the stores and in our closets!
From Megan: Olive You
Olive green, Army green, dark green, whatever you call it – it’s the perfect spring transition color. As winter takes it’s final bow, green is truly the color of spring. We love to pair it with pink (bright AND pastel), blue (navy, baby or chambray) and obviously white. To make these olive green pieces feel super current, pair them with some of Christa’s lavender pieces.

From Christa: A Spring Color Trend
Barbie pink may have been the big hero of 2023, but in 2024 we think it might be purple. Purple looks particularly cool paired with army green and soft accessories. Bonus points if you can sneak a hint of red in there, too!

We were checking out the spring trends last month. Another trending color to have on your radar is lavender. It was actually very popular last year and is a season-less color you can wear anytime. Here are some picks for a few lavender/purple additions to add to your wardrobe essentials this spring–perfect to pair with Megan’s green picks. And Ann Taylor has a whole section focused on the color to make your shopping easier.

What Megan’s Wearing
I wear denim almost every day (that I get out of my workout clothes). I’m currently loving the jeans from J.Crew — their petites fit me really well. My other go-to are ‘lil Mother (Mother’s petite line), and my favorite styles are the Dazzler and the Insider. In the winter I add a sweater and a third piece to make the outfit more interesting. On the left the leopard sweater serves as the third piece and on the right the turquoise necklace is the third piece.

In the winter I like to have a statement coat, don’t get me wrong I have the obligatory black puffer, too, but sometimes tossing on my kelly green coat over my jeans just makes a statement.
My most worn item this winter and as we transition into spring are these GAP vegan leather pants. I now own them in brown AND black. Wear them with a tee shirt and clogs or a cashmere sweater and heels. I’ve nominated them for the “most versatile” award in my closet.

What Christa’s Wearing
Wedding guest, graduation, all the spring events…this $50 dress from Amazon is a perfect staple piece to add to your closet. Be “event ready” whenever the invites arrive! I’ve also linked more lace dress options to help make your shopping easier.
These pajamas from Nordstrom have been trending on the blog since December. Do you have a pair yet? Available in long pants, short pants, short sleeves…something for everyone. These pajamas are the ones I wear most often because they keep me cooler at night. I love them so much I was willing to take my picture wearing them!

A wardrobe essential blouse paired with some on-trend pants are an easy way to transition into spring. I might have been a little hopeful pairing this with sandals in February, but this also works with your favorite booties or flats, too.
This new pop of pink sweatshirt is a recent Amazon find. It’s a nice change from the usual black and grey, and bright colors are trending in workout clothes this spring.
