Welcome to another Best of Style Among Friends! November first means another edition of our favorite post. We’re sharing your favorites and ours from the past month, along with a recap of what was on the blog (in case you missed anything).
CHRISTA : Whew! Where did this last month go? I love the cooler weather and breaking out all the warm cozy gear for those brisk morning walks. Sweaters are back in rotation, too, which makes me extra happy! This fall goodness doesn’t seem to last long, though, as our attention shifts to all things holiday here on the blog. (How early can you put up a Christmas tree? Asking for a friend…)
MEGAN : Hellooooo November! We are marching bravely into holiday season, are you ready? I warmly greeted all my sweaters and boots this month, all while sipping my pumpkin spice latte of course. If you haven’t moved sweaters and jackets to the front of your closet, this is your friendly reminder. We loved seeing your favs this month, looks like sweaters and guest rooms are on your to do lists, too. Are you taking advantage of our Holiday Checklists to get ready for the holidays early? Nothing like relaxing with a Hallmark holiday movie while your friends are scrambling to do all things.
YOUR “TOP FIVE” FOR OCTOBER
We see you getting ready for the holidays! Black pants and a striped sweater anyone? Please invite us for a sleep over because we love a bed made with comfy sheets and blankets. Megan can’t stop wearing her Walmart sweatshirt, it’s that good! Thanks for sharing your favs with us.

OUR “TOP FIVE” FOR OCTOBER
This month, we’re taking a break from our usual top five, and we’re sharing five things we love for our holiday wardrobe. From casual and comfy to chic and ready-to-party, check out our picks to add style to your season!
CHRISTA’S HOLIDAY STYLE PICKS
1 Anthropologie Sequin Button-down
I am declaring Anthro the place to shop this holiday season. Their daily emails are filled with so many festive options. Here’s an easy holiday outfit formula — add this sparkly sequin blouse to your favorite black pants or jeans, and you’re ready for any party. I love the idea of this blouse with our favorite Itty Bitty Boot Cut Jeans for a chic party look.
Available in three colors – bronze, green or this slate. And available in regular, petite and plus sizes.
Need new black pants? Check out our Reader Request for black pants in last week’s walk and talk.
2 LOFT Border Striped Tiered Dress
LOFT recently released their holiday collection and it is SO GOOD! Check them out for holiday outfits perfect for every festive occasion — from watching your favorite Hallmark movie to cocktails with the ladies.
This dress caught my eye right away and is in my cart! Pair it with some booties and sparkly earrings for a holiday look you’ll love.
3 Sam Edelman Brit Jeweled Mule
A beautiful, sparkly shoe can turn any outfit into a holiday look. These Sam Edelman shoes come in eight colors, in velvets, suede, brocade and satin. What a perfect addition to a classic column of color.
If your mules always slip, here are some tips to keep them on your feet.
4 Victoria’s Secret Modal Pajama Set
The VS modal pajamas have always been a favorite of mine. And this festive red is perfect for Christmas morning or a cozy holiday movie night! Best part — these come in short, regular and tall sizes (and XS – XXL). I’m 5’4″ and I buy the regular length. (Pro tip: Dry them on low or skip the dryer.)
5 Caslon Beaded Joy Sweatshirt (Plus size here)
This landed in my cart as soon as I saw it. It’s the perfect option for those lazy days between Christmas and New Year’s when you spend all day eating Christmas cookies, watching movies and playing games. Festive + comfy = perfect!
This is also a cute option to wear to your annual gingerbread latte with the girls.
Pro tip: I had last year’s version of this and still love it. Can’t wait to wear it again!

MEGAN’S HOLIDAY STYLE PICKS
1 Anthropologie Puff/Sheer Sleeve Top
How cute is this top for the holidays? It’s a knit/heavy tee shirt material, so can be dressed up or down. I would wear it with the Liverpool black pants you guys loved last month for a dressy look or with jeans for a jazzy cookie exchange. Comes in black and white; regular, petite and plus.
2 & Other Stories Sweater Dress
Is it just me or are we all seeing sweater dresses everywhere this fall? This one got me green with envy and went straight into my cart. I’ll be wearing it with boots and a leather jacket to all the holiday celebrations. Comes in beige, gray and green.
3 Gap Puff Sleeve Black and Metallic Top
I was strolling through my local Gap last week, they were putting out their new stuff and this little top stopped me in my tracks. It’s got all the VB feels at a Gap price. Would be perfect with jeans or black pants for a low key holiday vibe. Comes in regular, petite, tall and three different color ways.
4 Ann Taylor Wide Leg Pink Pants
You guys, these are twill PULL ON pants, if that doesn’t say buffet slacks I don’t know what does. I’m clearly still down the Barbiecore rabbit hole, but wouldn’t these be perfect with a black cashmere turtleneck? Or the sheer sleeve top (in white or black) see above from Anthro? Comes in regular and petite.
Nothing says party til dawn like gold shoes. These go with everything from jeans to cocktail dresses. I think it’s safe to say they are a holiday wardrobe hero.
