Best White Jeans for Spring

It’s getting warmer outside with sunny days and higher temps in the forecast. You know what that means? It’s time to break out your white jeans! (Unless you are that rebel that wears your white jeans year round, and if so, we applaud you!) We tried MANY white jeans to find the perfect fit, style and length. We’re sharing the details with you, along with some styling tips to help get you ready for spring.

What are you waiting for – get out your white jeans, friends!

White jeans go with everything!

What Christa Returned (and Why)

For sizing, I’m 5’4″, size 14, and I usually buy short length (or petite if short isn’t available). I can sometimes get away with ankle or cropped in regular length jeans.

Banana Republic Factory : I ordered three styles from Banana Republic Factory. I liked the leg shape/length of these ultra high rise slim jeans the best and I might have kept them…but, oh BR, why the white pockets??? You can see the pockets when you wear them which was a deal breaker for me.

White House Black Market : WHBM got the pocket part right by making them in nude fabric so they become invisible when the jeans are on. I ordered flare jeans in a short length, but the flares were still too long, so they are going back. (I use Shoprunner, so my returns here are free.)

Liverpool : These crop flare Liverpool jeans were an impulse buy and I knew they’d be a risk because of the wide leg. They just weren’t right for me. I think if you are a little leaner and a little taller, these would work. They are very soft, they pull on which was a good surprise (they have a fake button and zip front so no one would ever know) and the fabric is soft and stretchy. I’ll definitely try Liverpool again in other styles. (They do offer free returns if you are curious to try them.)

Joe’s Jeans (Nordstrom) : These jeans were a great fit, and run true to size. They didn’t come in petite/short so they were a little long (even though they are a cropped style). Several reviewers commented that the material is stretchy/didn’t feel like jeans – I actually liked that about these because they are lighter for warmer weather. They’re a little pricey and I didn’t need to spend that much since I found something similar that I liked. (Note: these jeans can’t go in the dryer.)

Express (shown below) : I never expected these jeans to work. Honestly, I figured I was either too old and/or too overweight to shop at Express. Well, friends, let this be a lesson – you are never too old or too overweight to wear what you feel good in (and Express has some really cute styles). I’m so glad I took a chance because I love these jeans. This style isn’t like anything else I already have in my closet. I ordered the short length, and they are perfect with the block heel sandals. They did run a little big, so if you’re in between you could size down. (They also do have some stretch to them, so I’m glad I sized down.) The denim isn’t too heavy so they’ll be good as the temps warm up, too.

Christa’s Runner Up – White House Black Market : These high-rise straight leg jeans are my runner up and I’m also keeping these. They are a great staple to have in the closet for spring and summer. They are a basic white jean with a good fit so they come in 2nd for this challenge! I don’t have any straight leg jeans, so I’m keeping these. WHBM is always a win for me with jeans, and they have sizes for every shape – short, tall, petite, curvy.

And if you aren’t a jeans girls, I recommend these comfort stretch slim ankle pants from WHBM. Like most WHBM pants, they also come in short, tall, petite, as well as curvy. And if white isn’t your thing, these come in seven other colors!

What Megan Returned (and Why)

For sizing, I’m 5’1, size 12/14 or 31/32 in jeans. I always buy petite pants and still sometimes have to hem them.

Nordstrom/Wit & Wisdom : This brand is typically a win for me, but this pair of white jeans had too high of a rise. The length was fine, they were fine, but nothing really wow’ed me about them. $68

THE WHITE JEANS MEGAN IS KEEPING

J.Crew :  Vintage Slim Straight white jean, oh how I love you! The petite has a perfect 9″ rise and the leg is slim but not skinny. They are not distressed nor do they have a raw hem, they are simple and perfect white jeans. Best part… currently on sale. $75

Madewell (shown below) : The petite perfect curvy vintage jean in tile white. I’m keeping these because of the color, they are not quite ecru but not quite white either. The fit is much looser than the JCrew pair, a bit more boxy even though the cut is curvy. Between theses two pairs they should fill my white jean needs through spring and summer. The (slightly) off white Madewell pair are a great option for those that are hesitant to wear pure white before memorial day.

I’ve been shopping for jeans as well, though not white jeans yet–(Memorial Day) and found that for me JCrew sizing has gone crazy. I would suggest trying them on in the store rather than ordering online. A JCrew skirt I ordered seemed at least two sizes smaller than I’d expected–or maybe I’ve gone up two sizes! My tip for the day is TJMaxx. I scored a pair of $188 AG (Adriano Goldschmied) jeans there for $49.
