WHAT WE’RE WATCHING

CHRISTA : Crazy cat lady here! Inside the Mind of a Cat (a Netflix documentary) is fun to watch if you’re a cat person. You’ll love learning more about your feline friends and what makes them act like they do. If you’re not a cat person, this might change your mind. (If it does, be sure to adopt from your local rescue.)

MEGAN : Untold (Netflix) — this nine part series tells unique and obscure (and fascinating!) sports stories. I just watched Untold: The Girlfriend Who Didn’t Exist. Highly entertaining about the Notre Dame football player that got catfished. I’m halfway through the next episode and will keep going. Perfect feature length (about 1h45m) shows. Pro tip: I watch these while I’m on the elliptical and time flies!

IT’S NATIONAL DOG DAY

It’s National Dog Day today! We’re celebrating all dogs, but especially these three — Josie, Shelby and Lexie! Looking for ways to spoil your pups? Check out these “3 under $30” ideas or this Amazon favorite dog bed.

RANDOM STUFF WE LIKE

CHRISTA : If you’re a connoisseur of Diet Coke like we are, do you have a preferred way of getting your tasty beverage? Do you prefer it from a can or maybe poured in a glass from a 2-liter bottle? We would argue that the ultimate way to enjoy your drink is from the soda fountain from Chick-fil-a (maybe it’s that perfect pebble ice?)! Whatever your preference, check out this interesting read about how Diet Coke gained its cult following.

WHAT WE’RE SHOPPING FOR

CHRISTA : You just moved them in, but it’s not too early to tell them you miss them! Here are a few fun (and easy!) ideas to send to your college student, let them know you’re thinking about them.

And an alternative to food (and always appreciated) is an Amazon e-gift card – just text it right to their phone!

SOMETHING YOU NEED (TRUST US!)

MEGAN : I’m on the hunt for layers. Light sweaters or jackets that I can pair with my jeans and dresses for fall. Transitioning to a new season can be hard, in Virginia it will still feel like summer for most of September – but I’m ready to switch it up. I’ll be rotating out my open toe shoes and adding this cute sweatshirt blazer to my rotation. So many great ways to wear this little jacket/sweater/sweatshirt.

SAVE VS. SPLURGE

MEGAN : Are you on the Birkenstock Boston bandwagon? Every time I open instagram these days some one is telling me “it’s the shoe for fall” or “must have”. I don’t know if I’m ready to commit, but you know I love a challenge. Ordered up these Cushionaire “like” Bostons from Amazon, they are the sister to my most worn summer f-irks (is that what we are calling fake Birks??). I can commit to $35 for the sake of trendsetting fashion. Pro tip: The real Bostons are sold out EVERYWHERE right now, there is a legit frenzy. Which makes the Cushionaire even more attractive!

WHAT WE’RE WEARING

CHRISTA : “Happiness is a new purse.” (Not an actual quote by anyone, but it should be!) This crossbody by Marc Jacobs arrived this week, and I must say I am impressed with the quality. I’ve never purchased this brand before — it’s the softest leather, perfect length strap, just the right size. Carry it as a clutch, shoulder bag or crossbody – love the options!

Pro tip: It’s hard to buy a purse online and judge the size of it. For me, a perfect crossbody measures about 10″ x 7″, best strap length is at least 22″ and adjustable. I can fit my iPhone, wallet, lipstick, hand sanitizer, reading glasses and sunglasses in it.
