WHAT WE’RE WATCHING

CHRISTA : We’re late to the game, but we’re finally watching (and loving) Yellowstone (Peacock). Just finished season 3 and can’t get enough of it. If you and your hubby need a new show to watch together and you haven’t watched this one, what are you waiting for? Trust us – we’re so glad we’re watching. I can’t wait for seasons 4 and 5!

MEGAN : We are currently watching Tehran (Apple TV+), an Israeli spy thriller. Tamar is a Mossad agent that sneaks into Iran to destroy their nuclear reactors. She gets stuck and has to create a new life while trying to get out. My dog walking buddy recommended it and she is right – it’s good! High scores on Rotten Tomatoes and three seasons, should keep me busy for a while.

FRIENDS SHARE THE GOOD STUFF

We love hearing that something we recommended works, like the SCHUTZ Victorie vinyl & leather sandals we’ve been recommending. Here’s what our stylish friend Nicole recently shared:

Schutz shoes for the European vacation win! I bought the Schutz shoes with the clear straps mentioned on the blog in the Spring. They were perfect for France. We walked everywhere. The heal was just the right size to walk 20 min up & down steep hills in the south of France to dinner, walk tons of stairs, walk on cobblestone , and wear on the Paris metro. My feet never hurt. Because they are clear I could wear them with everything . Big win for my trip!

Did you know they come in seven colors, including a super cute smoky grape (lavender) color (a color we’re seeing everywhere right now!) for only $59!

Did we recommend something you now love, too? Well, do tell! Share with us and we’ll pass it along…because friends share the good stuff!

WHAT MEGAN’S COOKING

Sausage and Veggie Sheet Pan Supper

www.StyleAmongFriends.com

This is the easiest dinner you'll make all week. It's just sausage and veggies, makes great leftovers too!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Course Main Course
Servings 4

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan/jellly roll pan

Ingredients

  • 3 sweet potatoes (chopped)
  • 1 head of broccoli (chopped)
  • 1 package sausage link (cut into coins) I use a W30 approved no sugar added turkey sausage but you can use any sausage in a link style
  • 1 cup cooked corn I used left over from the weekend and cut it off the cob.
  • 2 tbsp basting oil, olive oil or avocado oil
  • dash montreal steak seasoning
  • rice

Instructions

  • pre heat oven to 350
  • layer the veggies and drizzle with oil and spice
  • layer sausage on top
  • bake for 30 min
  • *my kids like this served over rice

Notes

We reheated the left overs and served them with eggs the next morning.  So good my son asked if we had more at lunch!

SOMETHING JUST FOR FUN

CHRISTA : We’re cat fans in our house (we have four cats right now since my daughter lives here, too!). So naturally anything cat-related catches my eye. Check out OwlKitty (known as Lizzy; OwlKitty is her stage name)! These videos of movie and tv show spoofs by videographer Tibo Charroppin are amazing…and hilarious! Check out OwlKitty in hits like Titanic, Jaws, The Matrix, Pulp Fiction, and Jurassic Park, plus they have behind the scenes videos on their website of how they make them. The best part is that Lizzy is using her fame on social media to spread the word about rescue cats and promote pet adoption. All four of our cats are rescue kitties, and we can’t imagine anything better!

WHAT MEGAN’S READING

MEGAN : Just finished listening to Lessons In Chemistry and loved it. Not at all what I expected, but good. The story is set in California in the 60s. Elizabeth Zott is the main character and I loved her so much I wanted her to be a real person. The story is quirky and funny, but serious and real at the same time. There is so much more but I don’t want to spoil it!

SAVE VS. SPLURGE

MEGAN : Our weekly walk and talk wouldn’t be complete without sharing a good Save vs. Splurge. I stumbled on these while looking for waterproof boots to wear with my new bootcut jeans. I think I could go jogging in these wedges!

WHAT CHRISTA’S ORGANIZING

CHRISTA : Another quick little organizing project. Last month I shared some tips to organize your junk drawer. This time I’m tackling my makeup drawer! I used this expandable spice organizer from Amazon and I love how I can see everything now. I’m a bad blogger and forgot to take a before picture, but imagine my original “system” with a bunch of small individual bins; most of the longer items didn’t fit in them and it was hard to find things. I now have a display where I can see what have. A big part of this project, however, is getting rid of the old makeup and the stuff you don’t use or don’t like anymore. (For tips, check out this Real Simple guide to makeup expiration dates.) How many mascaras does one girl really need?

WHAT WE’RE WEARING

CHRISTA : Another dress you need from Amazon – just throw on a jean jacket or cardigan when it’s cooler, and you’re all set to transition to fall. I have the light blue stripe sleeveless which admittedly is a little summery to wear this fall. But it comes in so many colors, including several solid darker colors, perfect for September and October. And if sleeveless isn’t your thing, you have options – a short sleeve version and a long sleeve version, too. Pro tip: Machine wash on cold and hang to dry.

AND, HERE’S WHERE WE WALKED

A peek along our walk…we’re impressed by how they’ve kept these purple flowers looking so beautiful on these hot summer days. Our pots and flowers are not looking that happy!

Thanks for the recipe, Megan. I made a version of this tonight which is Whole30 compatible.

Regarding TD’s favs, I love so much of their processed food but I am trying to be good. Their broccoli/kale slaw in the produce dept is one of my go-tos. Also, love their house Dijon mustard.

Their Ultra Moisturizing Hand creme exceeded my expectations (paraben free). Also, their pink pomelo grapefruit hand soap is wonderful.
