What We’re Watching This Week
MEGAN : The Runarounds on Prime hooked me from the first episode. Created by Jonas Pate (Outer Banks), The Runarounds is the story of 5 teens in Wilmington,NC with a shared love of music. The boys create a band and together and with their groupies they write songs and try to “make it “before they leave for college. Interestingly, The Runarounds is a real band, currently on tour right now. The series is 8 episodes, I would describe it as if Glee, Outer Banks and Almost Famous had a baby – The Runarounds would be it.
CHRISTA : They’re back! Join Charles, Oliver and Mabel for Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building. They’re joined by a whole new cast of celebrities, including Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Renée Zellweger, Keegan-Michael Key, and Beanie Feldstein, as they solve the latest mystery.
What We’re Wearing: Outfit Ideas for Women Over 50
CHRISTA : The calendar says fall… but Mother Nature clearly missed the memo because we’re still getting those summer temps. So what’s a girl to wear? A breezy little dress that feels like summer but looks like fall! The one I’m wearing is from Avara’s collection last year (sadly sold out), but don’t worry—their brand-new fall collection just dropped, and oh my goodness, the dresses are so good. Think easy-to-wear styles with all the autumn vibes. I’ve linked a few below—get ready to swoon!
Style tip: All of these dresses work great with sandals now, but you can easily pair them with tall boots in another month.

MEGAN : Last week we talked about wearing animal print as a neutral. This week I took advantage of the cooler temps and tried out the tips. Madewell has an awesome denim shirt right now. The perfect color, length and amount of structure. AND it’s currently 30% off through September 27. Actually everything at Madewell is 30%. Worth a browse through their website — their jeans are great and they currently have A LOT of midi skirts!

What We’re Loving: Everyday Favorites Worth Sharing
MEGAN : A few weeks ago I went to NYC and the first thing I noticed was that ALL of the WOMEN were wearing oversized blazers. Like everyone. With little tennis dresses, jeans and a tank, slip skirts, jorts — everyone had tossed an over sized blazer over their outfit (and it wasn’t cold). I asked my stylish girlfriend what brand she recommend, she said the Cinq a Sept Khloe was the best. Black or cream was what I saw in NYC and you know what? It really elevated even the most casual outfits.

CHRISTA : Looking for the ultimate cozy-at-home outfit? These PJ Salvage sets are a dream! They call them pajamas, but I prefer them as an at-home lounge set. I snagged one on a whim during the Nordstrom sale and I love it. Super soft, runs TTS, washes beautifully, and perfect for lounging, working from home, or binging your favorite series. Trust me—you’ll want more than one set!
Mini Style Fix: How to Style a Midi Skirt Over 50
The Mini Style Fix is like your stylish bestie whispering, “Wear this, you’ll look fabulous”—these bite-sized tips are fast, fun, and totally doable.
This week, we’re sharing how to style a midi skirt. A midi skirt, by definition, is “a skirt that typically falls to a length somewhere between the knee and ankle—generally around mid-calf. It’s known for its versatility and can come in various styles, including A-line, pencil, pleated, or wrap.” A pretty impressive piece of clothing.
MEGAN : As a petite woman (I’m 5’1), midi skirts can feel very intimidating / overwhelming. I’ve learned a few tricks when wearing a midi skirt that apply specifically to women under 5’3.
- Keep your midi skirt on the shorter side – just below the knee / mid to upper calf
- Look for narrow silhouettes (fit and flare, slip skirts, pencil skirts) too keep from overwhelming your frame with fabric
- Monochromatic or small patterns (no large florals) will elongate your body
Style Tip: Shopping for a petite cut is essential when buying a midi skirt or have the skirt altered. A floor length jean skirt is not the vibe.

CHRISTA : A suede or denim midi skirt can be your fall MVP—so easy to dress up or down. Pair it with a cozy knit or turtleneck, slip on ankle boots or loafers, and you’ve got an outfit that works for coffee runs and date nights. Suede feels extra chic in rich autumn tones, while denim keeps it classic and casual. Add a cropped jacket or blazer, and you’re good to go—effortless, versatile, and totally fall-ready.
Style tip: Balance the proportions of your skirt by topping it with something slightly cropped or more fitted.

Just for Fun: Smart Finds & Random Little Joys
CHRISTA : Here’s a fun little twist on book clubs…an audiobook walking club! What do you think? Listen to a great book AND get your steps in AND meet some new friends. Seems like the most genius alternative for us introverted extroverts! Apparently these clubs are everywhere, not just D.C. Do a quick Google search for “audiobook walking book club” to find one for your area.

MEGAN : On my aforementioned trip to NYC I made TERRIBLE shoe choices and thus suffered from ridiculous blisters. Like all over my feet. They were so bad I had to visit a CVS in SOHO, much to my shame. As I limped through the aisles of CVS I was rewarded with the holy grail of blister products. Seriously, I slapped these babies on my bloody (!!) wounds and it was like they never happened. Magic. I now have two of these in every purse and a box in my travel make up kit. Can-not-sing-the-praises-loud-enough.
