Friends Share the Good Stuff
Welcome to the Walk and Talk! Every week, we’re sharing our favorite finds—great books, binge-worthy shows, cute shopping picks, and all the little things that make life over 50 feel good. Think of it as your weekly walk with friends who always have something fun (and useful) to share. So glad you’re here!

What We’re Watching
MEGAN : Outrageous (britbox via Prime) was recommeded to me by not one but two people this month. I moved it to the front of the queue. Based on the real life Mitford sisters (6 girls and 1 boy!), who lived in England during the 1930s. There’s international scandal, love, betrayal, bad decisions, loyalty and fun. I can’t believe I didn’t know about these crazy girls! This is what they should be teaching in school. If you are a fan of Downton Abby, The Gilded Age, or The Buccaneers this show is for you.
CHRISTA : My dad and I actually agree on a show–which NEVER happens–so I’m not sure what that says. But I’ll admit, I like this one…a lot! Sometimes you just need a show that’s totally silly and makes you laugh, and Alan Tudyk as Harry in Resident Alien does just that! (Bonus tip: it’s the perfect download-for-your-next-flight kind of show.) Resident Alien is in its 4th season on SYFY and Peacock; you can also binge seasons 1-3 on Netflix. Enjoy!
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : How many puff sleeve tops are too many? Asking for a friend! This Caslon top is absolutely darling—and part of the NSale! It’s the kind of piece you can wear now and later, so easy to style and super versatile. I’m not sre why there are so many still in stock, because this color is perfect to transition to fall! As of Thursday at 8pm, it’s fully stocked in all sizes. Scoop it up while it’s still on sale!

MEGAN : Amazon for the win! I’ve been wearing this Amazon dress on repeat during this heat wave we’ve having. The cotton poplin is soft and cool. I tossed my favorite Amazon lady jacket over my shoulders for the chilly a/c. My Amazon wedge sandals go with everything and they are super comfortable. I couldn’t believe the price!

What We’re Loving (and Think You Might Too!)
MEGAN : Last summer at our Favorite Things (Beauty Edition) Party, I was introduced to OSEA, specifically their Anti Aging Body Balm. The love affair began instantly. This is no ordinary lotion, it hydrates the driest, crepiest skin and makes it look young again. I use it after the shower and my skin stays soft and supple (no weird crocodile scales) for 24 hours. No joke. Nordstrom has a twofer of the Anti Aging Body Balm in the sale this year. Keep one and give one to a friend, you will both be amazed.
CHRISTA : You have to try this new Colleen Rothschild shampoo and conditioner—it’s seriously the BEST! I wish we could add scratch-and-sniff to the Walk & Talk because the scent is next-level: think spa vibes with rosemary and green tea. So dreamy! It detoxes buildup, strengthens strands, wakes up your scalp, and leaves your hair feeling totally refreshed and full of life—exactly what our dull, menopausal hair needs. And if you’ve got fine hair like I do, don’t worry—this is super light and won’t weigh you down. Just fresh, clean, healthy-feeling hair. You’ll love it!
Shampoo and conditioner are $30/$32, or get both together with some cute hair ties for $59.

Mini Style Fix: NSale Picks
Mini Style Fix is your stylish bestie whispering, “Wear this, you’ll look fabulous”—these bite-sized posts are fast, fun, and totally doable.
This week…we’re shopping at Nordstrom for some pieces to add to our closet.
MEGAN : A lot of items on my wish list sold out – what do I do now?! I’m focusing on restocking the worn out basics in my closet. The tried and true, wear everyday items that need to be refreshed. The NSale is perfect for restocking items in your fall and winter wardrobe, the sale covers all seasons – coats, sweaters, sneakers, sunglasses. My top two purchases (and I purchase these same two items EVERY YEAR) are the On Cloud slip on sneaker and a cashmere crewneck sweater.

- On Cloud slip on sneakers are my go to – run errands, walk the dog, every day slip on shoe. I just bought my 5th pair! Pro tip: They seem a little snug at first but wear them a few times with socks and they mold to your foot. If you get them and wear them and they don’t work for you Nordstrom will take them back.
- A cashmere crewneck sweater is a classic wardrobe essential. You can wear it over your shoulders, with jeans and tee, with a slip skirt, with dress pants, over your pajamas – the possibilities are endless. Nordstrom cashmere is very high quality and the under $100 price tag is excellent.
Pro shopping tip: Take inventory of your fall/winter wardrobe and see what needs replacing or pieces your might need to add. The Nordstrom Sale is the perfect way to add to your wardrobe at great prices.
CHRISTA : I’ve learned I do much better when I shop with a full outfit in mind. I found two looks I’m loving in the sale—and yep, I fully plan to copy them (no shame in that, right?). That said… I’m not buying everything you see! I’m using these outfits as inspo and starting with what I already have in my closet.

- I’m guilty of always reaching for black sweaters—so this super soft ice blue sweater is a fun switch-up. I love how light-as-a-feather it is! I already have wide-leg jeans and brown boots to finish the look. Sizes are selling out, but it also comes in two other colors.
- This cream Vince jacket is a real splurge. I love the look of the outfit and think a cream jacket could be a very versatile layer. So I found this one by Caslon in the sale–same look, for much less–and I LOVE it. Don’t pass on this under $100 jacket. It’s so worth it! Update: Sizes are limited, so you might want to try this one by Halogen to create a similar look.
Pro shopping tip: Use the looks that Nordstrom has created on their website as inspiration for your shopping. Find a few looks you love, shop your closet to check off what you already own, and then grab the key pieces on sale.
Random Stuff We Like
CHRISTA : I recently hosted a birthday party, and these Pinterest-inspired flower arrangements totally stole the show—simple, charming, and just plain cute! 🦩🌸 I used mini pool floats (drink holders!) from Amazon, fresh blooms from Trader Joe’s, and clear party cups as the “vases”—easy and adorable. I put one at each place setting, and they doubled as party favors!
Make your menu easy, too! I filled my new platter (linked below) with an assortment of savory Trader Joe’s snacks. I got a summer mixed berry salad from Wegman’s catering (ordered same day and delivered!). And I purchased Trader Joe’s gluten-free mini cupcakes for the birthday dessert (very yummy!). Thinking of hosting something soon? Keep it no-fuss, and don’t overthink it!

Shop Flamingo Party
MEGAN : A recommendation from my foodie friend, Mike. Zevia (available on Amazon, Walmart, Harris Teeter, Safeway and many other markets) is a zero calorie, no added dyes, naturally flavored soda. Mike tells me these are the RAGE with the travel lacrosse parents right now. I enjoyed the Ginger Ale, but Mike and I agreed the Cola flavor was a pass. Zevia comes in 10 flavors and several teas. A great alternative to a sugary Coke, but if you are going the natural route, OLIPOP is still my first choice.
