Welcome to the weekly Walk and Talk! Every week, we’re sharing our favorite finds—great books, binge-worthy shows, cute shopping picks, and all the little things that make life over 50 feel good. Think of it as your weekly walk with friends who always have something fun (and useful) to share. So glad you’re here!

What We’re Watching
MEGAN : If it’s too hot to be outside, chances are you’ll find me binging a good Netflix show in the AC. Someone called it “The Outer Banks” for grown ups, and I concur. The Waterfront is a quick (8 episodes) family drug/crime drama with a star studded cast. Lots of action, but I wanted more story. They set it up for a season two, I hope I get a little more of the character’s stories in the next season.
CHRISTA : In My Mom Jayne (on Max), Mariska Hargitay shares the story of her mom, Jayne Mansfield, who died when Mariska was just three. It’s raw and emotional—she and her siblings are so open and honest, and you can just feel their love and their heartbreak. I was in tears. It’s such a beautiful tribute to her mom, but it’s also Mariska’s own story, too. I’m so grateful for Mariska’s courage in sharing this piece of herself with the world.
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : It’s been so hot!! So let me reintroduce you to the Zella In Flight Utility Dress. This is the one I reach for again and again—and it still looks new on its second year. Lightweight, flattering, and so easy to wear, it’s been my go-to for everything from errands to travel days to casual dinners. It checks all the boxes: looks cute with sneakers; works with flip flops; doesn’t wrinkle; under $70! If you’re building a summer uniform, start here. Comes in five colors; runs TTS.

Shop Christa’s Look
MEGAN : Christa influenced me! I got the Amazon dupe of the Spanx dress and I love it. I actually own the Spanx version of this dress too. The Amazon dress is about an inch longer than the Spanx dress. Even us shorties don’t like to show too much leg. We’ve talked so much about “one and done” dressing for summer and this little throw on and go dress wins the prize. Arrives overnight and comes in tons of colors. If you are panic buying for a trip add this dress to cart. You will not be sad.

What We’re Loving (and Think You Might Too!)
MEGAN : I’ve been scouring the mall and the interwebs looking for the perfect white linen dress to wear on the 4th of July. All of these dresses make a great backdrop for jewelry, a scarf or sweater — anything you want to showcase. White dresses look amazing on everyone with a little tiny bit of summer glow on your skin. Can you guess what I’ll be showcasing with my white linen dress this holiday weekend? Hint, I told you about it here.

CHRISTA : These Kizik sneakers are a no-brainer for my “what I’m loving” list—I wear them all the time. The easy slip-on style is perfect for dog walks, errands, or just getting out the door fast. This is the Milan style, and yes… I have four pairs (one didn’t make the pic because I wore them out!). I definitely wear the “bone” color the most. Fit tip: size up in the Milan style; I’m in a 9.5, but normally wear a 9. If you’re looking for comfort, style, and zero effort, Kiziks are it. Bonus: Kiziks are 100% husband-approved so grab your hubby a pair, too!

What We’re Reading in July

CHRISTA : Megan influenced me to try Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and it’s already loaded on my Kindle—poolside reading, here I come! Funny enough, when I asked Google’s AI what the top book of the summer is, it said the same thing. Honestly, who needs AI when you’ve got Megan?
MEGAN : My book club is reading The Artist and the Feast by Lucy Steeds this month. The story takes place during the hottest summer of the 1920s in Provence, France. I’m only half way through it, but for anyone that loves art, creating, food, you will love this book. The writing is very sensory focused, kind of like the artist in the book. To be noted: This book is longlisted for the 2025 Women’s Prize for Fiction.
Mini Style Fix: Travel Toiletry Bags
Mini Style Fix is your stylish bestie whispering, “Wear this, you’ll look fabulous”—these bite-sized posts are fast, fun, and totally doable.
Yes, your toiletry bag should be stylish, too! These chic yet practical picks prove you don’t have to sacrifice fashion for function when packing your travel essentials.

MEGAN : The Mary Poppins of toiletry bags. You never know what you’re going to need so you better bring it all! From skincare to makeup I can fit everything (even my electric toothbrush!) in this Amazon toiletry bag. It folds into itself keeping everything standing and making a cube shape that’s easy to pack. There is a reason this baby has 4.5 stars and over 7k reviews on Amazon.
Style Tip: On the day you’re traveling load your toiletry bag as you get ready. Don’t forget extra contact lenses and your glasses.
CHRISTA : When I travel, I do my best to stick to a carry-on—it just makes everything simpler. A good toiletry bag is key, and this one is my new favorite! It looks much more expensive than it it, holds a ton, lays flat when open so I can see everything at a glance, and it’s TSA-friendly. I usually pack two: one for makeup, one for all the other essentials. Super practical and under $30! It comes in 8 colors and 7 sizes—mine’s the “large glam” in off-white.
Style Tip: Keep a toiletry bag packed with all your go-to essentials—think of it as your grab-and-go glam kit! It makes packing a breeze and last-minute getaways totally stress-free.
