Friends Share the Good Stuff
Thanks for joining us for our Walk and Talk! We’re two friends who love sharing the good stuff—great books, shows we’re hooked on, cute things we’ve found while shopping, and all the little things that make life over 50 feel really good. Nothing too trendy, just what’s current and actually works. Think of this as your weekly walk with friends who always have something fun (and useful) to share. We’re so glad you’re here!

What We’re Watching
MEGAN : Nonnas (Netflix) popped up as recommended on my Netflix feed. It’s a sweet little show with a star studded cast (Vince Vaughn, Lorraine Bracco, Susan Sarandon, Joe Manganiello) about a blue collar man (Vaughn) that is following his dream of opening an Italian restaurant – against all odds. He hires a group of grannies that he finds on Craigs List to do the cooking. Light, funny, great cooking tips! This is not your typical Vaughn movie – no sarcasm here. It’s a true story!
CHRISTA : Paradise (Hulu) starts off like any other political drama, with a secret service agent protecting a former president (starring Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden)…but the sci-fi twist at the end of episode one will keep you coming back for more!
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : Splurged on this Cinq à Sept dress and zero regrets — the quality, the colors, the feminine details… every inch is flattering and made to feel special. Worth every penny. And, best part, it’s on sale!

MEGAN : You guys loved the mini style fix sweatshirt edition last week. I find myself reaching for this sweatshirt on the varying temperature spring days but on this day I swapped the Adidas sneakers for my Archies. And these Lululemon pants are amazing. Perfect elevated athleisure for a walk and talk and then running errands. Totally worth the splurge price tag. They would be awesome for travel too!

What We’re Loving (and Think You Might Too!)

MEGAN : As we head into Memorial Day Weekend, I find myself looking for my sunglasses. (It’s been VERY rainy this spring.) My favorite pair has a scratch so I’m ordering a replacement. Found them at Nordstrom Rack, for a great deal. These are perfect for small faces, they don’t pinch or get stretched out when I prop them on my head.

CHRISTA : My favorite sunglasses, the Ariana II style by Diff, have been my go to for years. I love the oversized, angular design, and the excellent quality stands up to being carelessly tossed in my purse. I wear contacts, so I’m always reaching for sunglasses to help with glare, even on cloudy days. These are my year-round go-to.

A Mini Style Fix: All About Haircare
This weeks Mini Style Fix is all about haircare! We’re sharing the products we love and that work well for women over 50.
MEGAN : I am very consistent with my hair routine, the only thing that changes up is the shampoo. Why does shampoo stop working after a while? I love my Bio Ionic hair dryer, it’s super fast! I always have a terry lined shower cap, essential if you don’t wash your hair everyday. The Kevin Murphy Blonde Angel is a treatment my hairdresser turned me onto, I use it once a week instead of conditioner. You leave it on for 20 minutes (or as long as possible) and it refreshes my “blonde”. Game changer between color appointments.

CHRISTA : For years, I’ve used styling tools by T3, as well as products by Olaplex, Kirstin Ess and R+Co. Read this week’s haircare post for more details on why I continue to use them and recommend them. If you’re looking to switch up your haircare routine, see what we’re buying on repeat.

Random Stuff We Like
MEGAN : Miss Lexie has been suffering from “old dog syndrome”, it’s kind of like vertigo in dogs. She’s MUCH BETTER now, but the poor girl still needs help with the front steps. I found this colorful harness on Amazon. She does not have to step into it and it has a nice handle on top for assisting. My son asked if it was Cotopaxi – so it much be cool. Pro tip: It comes with a cute leash too!

CHRISTA : This is definitely something you need if you are on your patio or deck a lot. These Thermacell Mosquito Repellents are the real deal, folks. They seriously work (and for more than just mosquitos)! Megan and I were having an outdoor blog meeting and the gnats were driving us crazy. But after just a few minutes with this thing, we were completely bug-free and ready to dive into finding awesome links for all of you.
