Thanks for joining our Walk and Talk! We’re two friends helping you discover how to look fabulous, feel amazing, and truly enjoy life over 50! Each week, we chat about our favorite shows and books, recent shopping finds, and all the fun stuff friends love to share. We’re excited to share it with you!

What’s on the Blog

It’s time to host a patio party! Check out 12 things we love for outdoor entertaining.

In case you missed it, here’s last week’s Walk and Talk.

What We’re Watching

MEGAN : I’ve officially entered withdrawal now that The White Lotus is over. But, The Lady’s Companion on Netflix has quickly perked me up. If you are a Bridgerton fan, The Lady’s Companion is like Bridgerton’s little sister. Not as good as Shonda Rhimes, but it’s cute and fun. The series (based on a book) is about a lady’s companion or chaperone to three sisters coming out into society and looking for a husband. It’s very binge-able, light and funny, much like Bridgerton. FYI: The Lady’s Companion is filmed in Spanish and dubbed.

CHRISTA : We started Landman (Paramount+) a few weeks ago, and I have to admit, I wasn’t hooked after the first episode. How long do you give a show to “get good” before you give up on it? I’m glad I stuck it out on this one, because fast forward a few episodes and it’s completely won me over. The show is set in the gritty, high-stakes world of Midland, Texas, where Billy Bob Thornton plays Tommy Norris—a no-nonsense guy trying to survive the madness that comes with the oil industry. If you like Yellowstone, you’ll enjoy this one, too, since it’s also by Taylor Sheridan. If you’re already a Landman fan, you’ll be happy to know that filming has begun on season two.

What We’re Gifting for Easter (and It’s So Simple!)

CHRISTA : Even though my kids are in their 20s and we haven’t filled traditional Easter baskets in years, I still love doing something fun for them each year. This time, I was inspired by a few pins I saved on my Easter Pinterest board. It’s not your typical candy-filled basket, but they’ll love feeling like a kid again! Plus, for my son who lives out of state, it’s easy to mail in a care package. I included plenty of chocolate, a few bunnies, and a bonus Amazon gift card tucked in the lid.

MEGAN : Long ago my boys outgrew the front yard Easter egg hunt. But, you’re never too old for a basket (or bunny or giant golden egg) filled with your favorite chocolates and jelly beans. There might be some cash and a little toy hidden in a few of the eggs. This year Easter is late, so I’m mailing my college kid a “basket” filled with treats to fuel him through exams. Adding a photo of an old Style Among Friends classic basket for the kids that are over 21.

What We’re Wearing

CHRISTA : Trying on a bunch of online orders and this Ann Taylor dress is definitely a keeper for some spring events that are on the calendar. Love everything about it! The cinched waist is so flattering, the fabric is light, it’s fully lined, the color is perfection. It’s a little too long for me (I’m 5’4″), so I’m reordering in a petite. Runs TTS. It’s looking a little more bright pink in my photo, but in person it’s definitely closer to the website image, a more orchid/purple color.

More Keepers from Recent Orders

MEGAN : Flew down to Florida for a few days to escape the second round of winter. My travel outfit was perfect, linen is meant to be wrinkled, right? The Brics duffle bag is the perfect carry on for the plane. (Also perfect for a weekend getaway.) Found it on sale at Nordstrom Rack. They sold out the last time I shared–act fast!

What We’re Loving (and Think You Might Too!)

MEGAN : Do you have a friend that is REALLY hard to buy gifts for? Like the friend, mother, sister that already has everything? I found the perfect gift under $50. Perhaps the cutest reusable shopping tote I’ve ever seen. I’ve ordered the small size for my farmer’s market loving friend. Would also make an amazing beach bag. The colors are stunning!

CHRISTA : My favorite pajamas just got even better with these new pretty spring florals! This winter, we shared all about our favorite pajamas, but spring is another great time to refresh your pajama drawer. These are the only pajamas I wear now, and I absolutely love them and definitely 1000% recommend them. I have the blue and the cream…the pink are in my cart! Pro tip: these would make a great Mother’s Day gift or you could gift them to a friend for her birthday.

Random Stuff We Like

MEGAN : Are you building a summer reading list? Amazon has a few suggestions, andI’ve got some too. I recently read these three books and have been recommending them to my friends. They would all make great vacation reads. Pro tip: If I’m taking a book to the beach I buy the large print edition so I don’t have to wear my reading glasses.

Shop Summer Reading

CHRISTA : Gift your mom, daughter, sister, grandma, aunt or friend (or yourself!) one of these cute little beauty sets. Perfect for any occasion, the scents are heavenly, all under $35. Choose from a trio of hand creams or a travel set. Pro tip: Maybe grab a couple of them to keep your “gift closet” stocked!
