What’s on the Blog

Sick of the cold weather? Us too! Check out our guide to an empty nester’s weekend getaway. We’re sharing places to go and what to pack.

In case you missed it, here’s last week’s Walk and Talk.
What We’re Watching
MEGAN : Meghan Sussex’s new show, With Love, Meghan, is out. As a hostess who prides herself on making guests feel welcome, I was excited to watch and learn some of Meghan’s tips. The show is getting slammed by critics, but I appreciate the “do it yourself” kind of modern Martha Stewart vibe that Meghan is sharing. I’m cutting this girl some slack for putting it out there and sharing. If you like homemaker-type shows; flower arranging, cooking, hosting, and party planning, give it a try.
CHRISTA : Fargo is our go-to series when we’re between shows, but we weren’t too eager for Season 4—it’s the only season that didn’t win any awards. So, imagine our surprise when we found out it’s actually really good! Set in 1950s Kansas City, the season follows a power struggle between Italian and African American crime syndicates fighting for control. Chris Rock leads the cast, but it’s Jessie Buckley’s performance as Nurse Oraetta Mayflower that you’ve gotta see!
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : What’s your go-to athleisure brand? For me, it’s always CRZ Yoga–it’s affordable, long-lasting, and fits well. I restocked with new leggings this winter, and now I’m eyeing up some fresh spring colors to get ready for the warmer days. This workout jacket is the perfect layering piece for spring walks. It hits at hip length, features zippered side pockets plus hidden inner pockets for your keys, includes thumbholes and a hood, and even has a back mesh vent for extra airflow. And the best part? You get all that for under $50—no need to splurge on pricier brands!
Fit tip: Size up. I’m 5’4″ and generally wear an 8-10/M top, but I sized up to L in the jacket. It’s definitely a fitted style; for a looser fit, I’d go up two sizes.

MEGAN : Grocery shopping can be fun with a coffee and a cute outfit. I love these Gola sneakers, purchased this fall, they have been one of my most worn pieces all winter. Super comfortable and they go with everything. Pro tip: These Gola sneakers run true to size – not too narrow or wide. Fashion sneakers are the “cool girl” shoe of spring and my pair is currently on sale.

What We’re Loving (and Think You Might Too!)
MEGAN : After a recent eye infection, I tossed ALL of my eye makeup. I replaced my tried and true neutral/cool toned eye shadow pallet and my beloved dark gray gel eye liner. And then I decided to try a few “new to me” things that have been on my radar like the Armani liquid shadows and the Kosas gel liner in a midnight plum. Sometimes you gotta make lemons into lemonade.

CHRISTA : Menopause changes everything—including your hair. Mine went from oily to dry, and fine to even thinner. But two products have made a big difference for me: Hers Minoxidil + Biotin supplements and a hair mask. Since starting the supplements last fall and taking them daily, I’ve seen real results—more growth and improved thickness. And the hair mask twice a week? A game changer, adding shine to my dull, dry hair (and so easy to do)!
If you have any questions about the supplement, email me or leave a comment. It is available by prescription through the Hers website, and their step by step quiz walks you through the process to find the best product for your situation.

What We’re Reading in March
CHRISTA : I’m always up for a good thriller, and this one was just released March 1. I can’t wait to dive in. Described as “a chilling novel of mounting psychological suspense,” this is right in my lane! From the publisher: “Strong & Sargent’s mastery of claustrophobic plots and jaw-dropping twists has never been more evident! Gravewater Lake had me looking left and right for clues to distinguish fact from fiction, truth from lie. This icy, read-in-one-sitting tale is one to curl up with—I couldn’t let go until the shocking last page.“

MEGAN : The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali is next up on my bed side table. A story about two friends in Tehran, Iran spanning multiple decades – I can’t wait to dig into this. I think it will make a great walk and talk discussion. If you liked The Kite Runner or My Brilliant Friend this book is for you.

Random Stuff We Like
MEGAN : While watching the new Meghan Markle Sussex show one of the first things I noticed was her manicure. A quick google search brought up this article which prompted me to round up a few of my favorite “milky white” nail polishes for spring.
CHRISTA : Spring is the perfect time to refresh and reorganize your closet. A little time spent now will make getting dressed every day so much easier! Start by gathering everything that belongs there—laundry, coats, shoes—so you know exactly what you have. Next, organize by category (shirts, jeans, sweaters, etc.) to make it easier to tackle one section at a time. A rolling garment rack can help—empty one section, clean the space, and put back only what you’re keeping. I went category by category, starting with the easy stuff (jewelry, purses, shoes), and let go of:
- Anything that doesn’t fit or hasn’t been worn in 1–2 years
- Duplicates—kept just one
- Similar items—chose a favorite
- Outdated styles (I’ll update if they come back)
With KEEP, DONATE, TRASH, and RECYCLE piles sorted, I made a list of wardrobe gaps for my next time shopping. To stay organized, here are a few closet products I’ve used for years.
