last week's walk and talk

In case you missed it, here’s last week’s walk and talk.

What We’re Watching

MEGAN : Prime Target (Apple TV) starring Leo Woodall (aka Dexter from One Day) is like a cross between “Good Will Hunting” and “The Bourne Identity.” But no Matt Damon. Prime Target is a mystery/thriller that involves math and history set in England. New episodes drop on Wednesdays. I REALLY miss the days when a show dropped all episodes on the same day and you could just binge the heck out of it. Alas, see ya Wednesday, Leo.

CHRISTA : I was a big fan of the original Suits on USA, so I had high hopes for Suits LA, which premiered last Sunday on NBC. It’s still early to say for sure, but it’s just not quite doing it for me like the original. It’s the same high-stakes cases and confident, cocky lawyers (all with impeccable fashion!). But something feels off on the pace of the show; the stories are a little choppy for me. I’m going to give it a few more episodes to decide. Is anyone else watching?

What We’re Wearing

CHRISTA : The Somerset collection from Anthropologie is a best seller for a reason – fits so many body types, comes in so many patterns and styles, and is available in lots of sizes (standard, petite and plus). Mine is from last year, but I’m sharing some new favorites below. If you’re planning spring break or need an Easter dress, try a Somerset dress. The styles are virtually endless–shorter like I’m wearing, maxi, shirtdress, romper, halter, velvet, shorts, skirt. The v-neck can be a little revealing but they’ve added a snap to close it if that’s your preference.

Fit tip: If between sizes, size up. For reference, I am 5’4″, generally a size 8-10, and wearing a size M.

MEGAN : Just a casual early spring OOTD today. Wearing the red Mary Janes from our early spring essentials post. Something about adding RED shoes takes jeans and a button down to an outfit.

What We’re Loving (and Think You Might Too!)

MEGAN : I picked up Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil (in color soft mauve) on my recent trip to Sephora with my niece. On first application it is very creamy and sheer, however it’s buildable if you like more color. It is NOT STICKY which is a huge pet peeve of mine. Leaves your lips hydrated. It’s also great over a lipstick for a bit of shine. This is a new must have/favorite for me. Four new colors just released!

CHRISTA : Needed some new spring flats since it’s still too early for sandals. These “Maddy” style by Sam Edelman were just right! Fit is TTS. I can always find something from Sam Edelman, my go to for all shoes.

Random Stuff We Like

MEGAN : VERY random, but this is the kind of “tip” we share as empty nesters, over 50, on our walk and talks. I recently had an eye infection and the doc recommended using these self warming eye masks. They are great for anyone that suffers from dry eye or has concerns about their eye health, so I guess EVERYONE. I must say laying down for 15 minutes listening to an audible while I wore the mask was incredibly relaxing. I’ll be adding these into my sleep hygiene routine.

CHRISTA : Sit back and enjoy! Elton John and Brandi Carlile’s voices are pure magic together!
