Welcome to the Walk & Talk
Welcome to Walk & Talk, a weekly hangout for women over 50 who love good finds and great outfits. It’s all about easy looks, favorite things, and the kind of recommendations you’d text to a friend.
CHRISTA : Can you believe February is already wrapping up? The days are getting a little longer, the light feels a little brighter, and it is the perfect time for a small reset before we step into spring. Today’s Walk & Talk is filled with simple favorites, helpful ideas, and a few things we think you will love as we head into spring.
MEGAN : I can’t find my sunglasses anywhere, maybe because I haven’t needed them in so long. March is almost here and with it is the promise of longer days and sunnier skies. Next time it gets over 60 degrees call a friend and ask her to sit in folding chairs in the front yard with you, sipping diet cokes or lattes and enjoy a driveway beach day. Good for the mind, body and the soul.

What We’re Watching
MEGAN : I saw Wuthering Heights in the theater and it did not disappoint. We all know Emily Bronte’s book, but Emerald Fennell (Saltburn and Promising Young Women) brings her own modern and captivating style to one of this iconic love story. Worth seeing in the theater, it’s gives those big movie vibes: the costumes, the energy, the music the set.
CHRISTA : I thought Hijack on Apple TV could have been a limited series, but somehow they managed to bring Idris Elba back for more thrills and plot twists in season 2. I’ve looked forward to watching it each week and it’s a great weekend binge if you need to catch up.
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : Okay Mother Nature, I think we have had quite enough snow, thank you very much. I am officially moving on to spring…pulling together a few easy, happy looks. This outfit feels very me. These neutral espadrille wedge sandals have been in my closet for years and they are my go to starting point for spring. (If you want to hunt for them on Poshmark, they are the “Tango” by Life Stride.) I linked a selection of neutral espadrille sandals below, in case you’re ready to give your spring wardrobe a little jump start.
Fit tip: I’d like a little more room in the top, so I’m sending it back for a bigger size. For a comfier fit, size up when you order.

MEGAN : I’ve got some travel coming up so I’ve been testing out some travel day ‘fits. Like everyone I want to be comfortable but no too casual. My flight is overnight, but I’ve drawn the line on wearing my pajamas. You’re welcome. So far, this is the top contender. I’ll add a scarf for extra warmth but I’m most worried about getting too hot. As always I’m living in my Adidas Spezial sneakers – also wearing your bulkiest shoe is a packing hack.
Fit tip: Size down a half size in the Adidas sneaker.

What We’re Loving
MEGAN : While we’re talking about Wuthering Heights, did anyone else notice Margo Robbie’s lipstick in the movie? I watched a billion video interviews with the make up artist and you will not believe what lipstick Margot is wearing. Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm in Rose. Under $5 at Target — I’m on my way!

CHRISTA : I’ve been giving our primary bedroom a little refresh, and started with a new duvet cover, which is honestly the easiest way to change the whole look of a room. I loved the look of my old linen set from PotteryBarn, but it always looked wrinkled and a little tired. After way too much searching, I finally found this set on Wayfair and it is exactly the vibe I wanted, just less wrinkled, sturdier, and currently 51% off. It comes in a pretty beige and soft green in both king and queen. Click the link or image below to see the pillows, sheets, and cozy layers I’m adding too. Trust me, this duvet is a good find.
Stay tuned…in next week’s Walk & Talk, I’ll share some artwork I found for the walls. After 15 years in our house, it’s about time!

What We’re Styling: St. Patrick’s Day Inspiration
Each week, we share easy outfit ideas inspired by real-life plans and places. Think comfortable, put-together looks you can recreate with what you already own, plus a few fun add-to-cart options if you want to update your closet.
CHRISTA : This feels like it’s becoming a new uniform for me as we head into warmer weather and I would totally wear any of this on any given day! The formula: ankle length jeans + some fun sneakers + a lighter piece on top. It’s a great wear now/wear later transition from winter to spring. And while pairing red with pink might be my favorite color combo, leopard paired with green is a VERY close second!
Style Tip: Choose something green to wear now for St. Patrick’s Day that will also bring you into spring. Try a t-shirt layered under a cardigan or a lighter weight cotton sweater.

MEGAN : Remember in elementary school when the boys would pinch you if you weren’t wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day? Well that is NEVER going to happen if you wear this sweater. In fact, I think you will be the queen of the grocery store catwalk on the 17th.
Style tip: This clover sweater is a LEGACY piece. One of your kids will steal it and wear it when you’re finished with it.

Just for Fun
MEGAN : Someone you know have the blues, sick, stressed or just need a little bit of sunshine in their life? Make them a “sunshine box”. Grab a bunch of yellow items at the store or just give her a yellow mug, a box of yellow tea and some honey. Sometimes knowing that you’re thought of is all the cheer you need.

CHRISTA : Last year we shared a post packed with our favorite tips for putting together a “sunshine box,” and you all loved it. It is such a simple, happy way to brighten someone’s day, filled with cheerful little finds that feel like a warm hug. Perfect for a friend who is under the weather, someone going through a tough stretch, or a college kid powering through exams. I am bringing the idea back again with some fresh, feel good picks for your box, all from Target. Go spread a little sunshine. ☀️
Pro tip: This is also a great group gift idea. Ask everyone to contribute a a few sunshine items to the collection and you’ll have an amazing gift to cheer up a friend. And the yellow tote I linked below makes a perfect reusable gift bag!
