Welcome to the Walk & Talk
Welcome to Walk & Talk, a weekly hangout for women over 50 who love good finds and great outfits. It’s all about easy looks, favorite things, and the kind of recommendations you’d text to a friend.
CHRISTA : Mid-February always feels like the quiet middle ground between cozy winter and the first hint of spring. If you are craving a little refresh, a little inspiration, or just a few fun finds to brighten the everyday, you are in the right place. This week we have ideas for a little mid-winter boot…for me, that always includes adding more pink! 💕
MEGAN : Who else is ready for spring? To distract myself from this particularly harsh winter I’ve been leaning into my warmest sweaters in the lightest colors, making double dates with my empty nest friends and making sure I still get outside to soak up some vitamin D – even if it’s just for a short walk with my dog walking girls. How are you battling the winter blues?

What We’re Watching
MEGAN : The second half of Bridgerton comes out on February 26th. I’m not sure I’m a fan of splitting the season, the first half felt more like a tease than an appetizer. My favorite things about Bridgerton are the music and the subtle easter eggs they include in each episode.
CHRISTA : My TV viewing is all over the place this month, so why not add a western to the mix! The Abandons (Netflix) caught my eye for its leading ladies, Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey. Set in the 1850s, it follows two women leading their families through brutal survival, one with everything to lose and the other with nothing but each other. If you liked the Yellowstone prequels, this one is definitely worth a watch.
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : I am officially over this cold weather and ready for sunshine. So this week I’m sharing a peek at some fun spring and summer finds that have been quietly piling up in my cart, and this dress jumped straight to the top. It arrived this week and I love it. I cannot believe it’s from Lands’ End, such a happy surprise. It’s crisp cotton, fits true to size, and works for just about everything. It’s definitely coming with me on our summer vacation. Would be so cute with white sneakers for daytime exploring and easy to dress up with a simple sandal for dinner. Hello, warm weather…I am ready for you. ☀️

MEGAN : When I am stuck standing in my closet feeling like I have nothing to wear I turn to Pinterest. Lately Pinterest has been serving a lot of Carolyn Bissette Kennedy (Love Story is out on Hulu). This is my take on CBK’s 30 year old outfit that is still perfectly on trend. Carolyn really is a style icon.
Fit tip: Once the Pinterest algorithm starts to know you, it is a great place for outfit inspiration. Use it and shop your closet.
What We’re Loving
MEGAN : I’ve been living in these Uniqlo Heattech cashmere blend undershirts this winter. They are the perfect layer under sweaters or even when I’m working out. I have both the turtleneck and crewneck styles. Too sheer for this girl to wear alone, but the best layering piece. Pro tip: they wash in the machine and dryer.
CHRISTA : Dreaming of warmer weather, so I had a little fun browsing Nordstrom. Sharing a peek at what’s in my cart right now (or on it’s way to me!). Lots of pieces I can’t wait to try. Everything feels easy for everyday wear and would be perfect for spring and summer trips, too. (Yes, I have summer vacation planning on my mind.)

What We’re Styling: Add a Touch of Spring When It’s Still Winter
Each week, we share easy outfit ideas inspired by real-life plans and places. Think comfortable, put-together looks you can recreate with what you already own, plus a few fun add-to-cart options if you want to update your closet.
CHRISTA : When it still looks and feels like winter but you are mentally in spring mode, a little color goes a long way. Try adding a pop of spring to your winter layers. A midwinter dose of pink is such a mood booster, and these finds are all under $50. Easy, cheerful, and guaranteed to make your outfit feel a little less February and a lot more fun.

MEGAN : Two words when you are trying to dress for spring but mother nature says it’s still winter: layers and color. You still need a jacket but no one said it couldn’t be white! Switch up your black, navy, charcoal sweaters for cream, tan and pink. Dress in layers, as the temps rise during the day you can take off your sweater and wrap it around your shoulders.

Just for Fun
MEGAN : I’m currently reading A Marriage at Sea by Sophie Elmhirst. True story. Would your marriage survive MONTHS on a rubber dinghy floating in the middle of the Pacific Ocean?

CHRISTA : Spring is officially popping up at Dick’s Sporting Goods.🌷 Loving these “bitty” Bogg bags in so many pretty colors. I’m trying to decide how I can use the stripe one. Any ideas? Could be a fun Easter basket or part of a college care package or even a summer hostess gift. Check out this Pinterest inspiration!
Comes in three sizes: “Bitty” is 11” L x 4.5” W x 8.5” H; “Baby” is 15″ L x 5″ W x 12.5″ H; “Original” is 19″ L x 9″ W x 14″ H.
