Summer style for me needs to be light and easy! It’s too hot too fuss! With lots of cute dresses in rotation, some wedges to dress them up, and a summery bag, you’ll be all set. Add in a coverup you adore and you’ll be feeling confident all summer long. It’s all you need to go from poolside to date night or girls’ night out!
A cute sandal with a heel instantly elevates your outfit. I love these Lifestride espadrille wedges for a casual summertime look. Pair them with jeans, skirts, shorts or a dress – they work with everything. They are really comfortable, too. They come in lots of colors at a great price, so you can pick a few!

Dresses are my favorite summer item. It’s a one-and-done outfit perfect on hot days. They’re great to slip on after a day at the beach or pool…or a cute look for a morning of errands.
This one from Amazon is perfect – it’s lightweight, fully lined, and easy to pack! My other go-to dress this summer is this white sleeveless dress by WHBM. A little white dress is just a good classic summer essential you should have in your closet. (Top it with a jean jacket on chilly evenings.)

It’s time to retire the black leather bag for the warmer months. It’s no secret that I love a crossbody bag! So for summer, I’m carrying this blush bag from Michael Kors on most days. I use it often, so I wanted to show you (sorry that it’s an old style and no longer available).

I’m not feeling my best self these days in a swimsuit. But because we have a pool, I spend a lot of time wearing one! What’s a girl to do? The secret is the coverup! I’ve found that having a coverup I love helps me feel much more confident. This coverup by Sanctuary is my favorite, but I also like this white one and this kimono style, too.

Summer is all about accessories. You can elevate and change up any look with a necklace, scarf or by switching your shoes. Below are the updates I’ve added to refresh my closest for summer. I spent more on the classic accessories (hat and bag) and less on the more trendy items. Adding these four items to my closet has made my summer wardrobe feel ready for the season.
This packable straw fedora by Janessa Leone is the perfect summer accessory. It protects your skin from the sun at the pool, hides your bad hair days and looks chic. It also packs in a suitcase so you don’t have to worry about traveling with it. Nothing looks more elegant than a lady in a hat.
This dress has a cult following, the reviews say it looks good on any body type and I have to say as a curvy girl it works for me. The ruching is in just the right spots. Dress it up with a blazer and wedges or down with a loose linen top unbuttoned over it and classic white sneakers. It’s comfortable, cool, easy to wash and available in a plethora of colors. At under $35 this is a great trendy piece to add to your summer wardrobe.

Last week I was at the hair salon and a woman walked in with this jacket on and immediately got my attention. It’s super cute and on trend with the slight puff shoulder. It’s no secret I’ve been having a love affair with straw bags lately. I just can’t stop! This classic French market bag has similar bones to a luxury brand but at a more affordable price. Cotton liner zips closed so you won’t lose any of your lip glosses. It’s the perfect size for an everyday summer bag or a pool/beach tote. Classic in every way.
