Our Top 5 for August

We’re excited to share our August favorites with you. As always, we searched our order histories and looked in our closets and came up with our top five purchases from the month.

Christa’s Best of August 2023

1 Aerie Textured Henley Hoodie

Comfy is the name of the game and Aerie certainly has mastered it with their sweatshirts and hoodies. Love the details on this one — the ribbed texture, the snap closures, the side slits — and it’s not too heavy. Pair it with leggings, and it not only works for when you’re busy around the house, but also acceptable to run morning errands.

Pro tip: Definitely size down; I am usually a 12-14 and bought the M.

2 Sam Edelman Vienna Pointed Toe Pump

I was starting to give up hope of finding a heel I liked, and then I found these. Sam Edelman for the win again! They’re under 3″ (2 3/4″ to be exact!), and actually feel pretty good on. I love this “frontier brown” suede, definitely on trend for the fall (seeing chocolate brown everywhere!). I can’t wait to wear them with my dark wash Itty Bitty bootcut jeans and maybe splurge for this blouse.

3 Athleta Boundless Popover

Isn’t this just a perfect pink?! Love this little pullover for our fall walk and talks — start off wearing it when it’s chilly and shed the layer as it warms up. It also has a little stretch. Available in white and olive, too, and in sizes XXS to 3X. If you like this pink, Athleta has other styles in this same color, HERE.

4 J.Jill Luxe Supima Pleat-Back Tee

I recently shared this as part of my new travel outfit and wanted to make sure you didn’t miss it. I am declaring this a perfect white t-shirt! It’s a nice weight (not too thin/sheer), it washes well (I don’t dry mine just to be safe), and the v-neck isn’t too low. Comes in seven colors, in sizes regular, petite and tall.

Pro tip: Definitely size down; I am usually a 12-14 and bought the M.

5 On-the-Go Dog Water Bottle for Outdoor Walking and Hiking

We have a Boston Terrier mix, and on a long walk, she overheats quickly. This water bottle to the rescue! It’s the #1 Best Seller for dog water bottles on Amazon, with almost 30k five star reviews. Just press the little button to fill the “bowl” for a quick drink.

Megan’s Best of August 2023

1 Le Labo Vanille 44 Perfume

My friend surprised me with this little treat, a sample of Le Labo Vanille 44. It is only sold in Paris — until now. You can get a sample for $13 on the US Le Labo site, and be added to their waiting list for a full size bottle. It’s only being sold in the US in August and September. You guys, it’s good. I’m not sure if I love it because I might not be able to get it or if I just really love it.

2 Athleta Skort

Picked up this tennis skirt/skort at Athleta on a whim in August. Paired with the matching sleeveless tee and it’s quickly become my go to walking outfit. Pockets (for my phone) and shorties (for chub rub) under the skirt make it perfect.

3JJill Linen Dress

I’ve nominated my JJill linen dress for the summer hero award. She’s been washed and line dried, not ironed, ironed, worn as a cover up, worn with gold sandals as a fancy dress, worn with sneakers, flip flops, wedges and sandals. Oh, and did I mention the POCKETS??? Here is a very similar version of my dress also on sale. Sizing is limited since they are 40% off the sale price.

4 Tom Lake by Ann Patchett

My favorite book I’ve read this year, this story just drew me in. AP is an amazing story teller, but the way she weaves the threads of the tale together to create something bigger is amazing. Oh, and if you are an Audible person, Meryl Streep reads it and there is nothing like it. Soothing, familiar and relaxing.

5OPI Funny Bunny and OPI Put it in Neutral

My go to nail polish combo this summer is one coat of Funny Bunny and two coats of Put it in Neutral. Gives the best baby/bridal pink. Doesn’t scream at you when it chips and the pedicure with a tan is five stars.
