We all have those go-to Amazon finds—the thing we use every day, reorder constantly, or can’t stop recommending. That’s exactly what an Amazon Favorite Things Party is all about! Amazon is full of genius, time-saving, just-plain-fun items, and this is the perfect way to share the best of the best. It’s a perfect gathering for friends any time of the year.
Hosting is simple: each guest brings two of their favorite Amazon items, and everyone leaves with two new favorites to try. Plus, you get to relax with friends, enjoy some good food, sip something fun, and swap finds you’ll actually use. Truly—what’s not to love?

What Is an Amazon Favorite Things Party?
It’s simple: everyone brings multiples of their favorite Amazon product to share. Guests go home with great finds without the pressure of shopping for someone specific.
How This Version Works (Your House Rules)
Trust us when we say this is one of the easiest, but most fun, parties you’ll host!
How it works (there were our “rules”, but you can change the number of items, the price limit, etc. to suit your friend group):
- Each guest brings TWO identical items from Amazon.
- Price point: around $25 per item.
- Items are unwrapped for easy browsing/display.
- Guests will go home with TWO new items—someone else’s favorites!
And just for fun:
- Guests can bring ONE $5 favorite Amazon item to contribute to a group raffle prize basket.
- Each person who participates gets entered into a drawing to win the basket.
- Creates excitement and a fun “big reveal.”
- We had 17 people participating, so we divided the items randomly into two gift bags for two lucky winners!
What to Bring (Easy Ideas for Guests)
Encourage your guests to look around their house and browse their Amazon order history for ideas on what to bring. We had everything from kitchen gadgets to beauty products and it was so much fun to see the variety (and get lots of shopping ideas).
- Home Essentials: reusable cleaning cloths, pretty dish towels, countertop gadgets
- Beauty Favorites: lip oils, hand creams, dry shampoo, under-eye patches
- Kitchen Helpers: mini whisks, veggie choppers, favorite spices or condiments
- Travel Accessories: packing cubes, pill cases, travel organizers
- Fashion & Accessories: socks, hair clips, scarves, crossbody phone bags
- Everyday “Can’t Live Without” Items: the thing you’ve bought 10 times or recommend constantly!
Tip: Encourage guests to choose items that truly make life easier or more enjoyable—not just cute things.
How to Plan & Host (Step-by-Step)
Choose Your Date + Send Invitations
If you’ve been here a while, you know we love Paperless Post for our party invitations! It’s so easy to create the guest list, send reminders and customize the invitation to fit your theme. For this favorite things party, we knew the invite needed an Amazon vibe, so we customized it with our own photo (there’s never a shortage of Amazon boxes for a pic!).
Pro tip: Ask guests to send you their Amazon link ahead of time so you can email everyone with a list of links to shop.
Gather What You’ll Need
You don’t need much! In keeping with our Amazon theme, we opted for brown kraft paper napkins, orange utensils/flowers/ribbon…that was all we needed!
Decide What to Serve
Hosting can be easier than you think! In one quick stop at the grocery store, you can get everything for a charcuterie board and some frozen pizzas to slice up for appetizers. Everyone LOVED it, and it really was so easy.

Set Up the Display Table
- Just use a long table or kitchen island to display the items. On this table, have guests write down their name on TWO pieces of paper for the gift swap.
- Create a second area to gather the smaller $5 items for the raffle drawing. On this table have guests who brought items write down their name on ONE piece of paper for the drawing.
Do the Gift Swap
- Taking turns, have each person briefly explain why they love their item.
- The presenter can then draw names for two people who will take home their favorite thing.
- One of those guests that was drawn is the next one to present her item. It’s super easy!
Do the $5 Gift Basket Drawing (Optional But Fun!)
- Collect all $5 items into a cute basket, bin or gift bag.
- We had 17 guests so we divided items into two gifts bags.
- Draw the winner(s) at the end of the night.

One of our favorite parts of party planning is creating party favors. And, with an Amazon-themed party, you have plenty of options for a fun take home! We found makeup bags and filled them with a few of our personal favorites, plus a few of the favorites from the blog. Guests loved their special take home gifts!
