I don’t wear shorts very often, but there are definitely times when they are necessary and work for me. My first thought for wearing shorts is at an amusement park (or maybe a ball game) — you definitely need them then. Here is some outfit inspiration with a pair of my favorite “Gidget” style denim shorts by Kut from the Kloth (fit tip: size up). (If the 4″ inseam is too short for you, they have longer styles as well.) Who says you can’t look cute when you’re standing in line for a roller coaster? And I love this crossbody bag that I found. A crossbody is a must-have for any vacation! Don’t forget to include your handheld fan (almost 14,000 five star reviews) and a battery backup for your phone – you’ll need them for a day in the park!

I love these Blank NYC jean shorts. They are distressed, run large, very flattering and super soft. I’ve had mine for three years and they are still in rotation. I know that distressed denim is not everyone’s jam – but these looks can be paired with a jean skirt, jeans or khaki shorts. Here is my high/low take on styling jean shorts. On the left my girl is going to the farmer’s market and then meeting friends for lunch. The girlfriend on the right is going to an outdoor concert with friends.
