We’re so glad you’re here. Join us again, same time next week!

What We’re Watching This Week

MEGAN : I just binged the latest Netflix thriller, The Beast In Me. Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys are perfectly cast in this eight episode series that will keep you second guessing right up until the last episode. And now, the rumor is there will be a season two? I’m headed down the rabbit hole.

CHRISTA : We just started something new that I’m very excited about. From Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad, have you watched Pluribus (Apple TV+) yet? As I watched episode one, I realized this was not what I expected…and it was going to be really good! The internet agrees (it currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.) I won’t say too much because I don’t want to give away anything, so I’ll just say watch this one if you can!

What We’re Wearing: Outfit Ideas for Women Over 50

CHRISTA : Hello again, cute pink slip skirt hiding in my closet! Welcome to winter! Every season can be slip-skirt season because it’s one of the easiest pieces to style year-round. Consider this your reminder that a good slip skirt always deserves an encore. My Farm Rio look-alike is a great all-season/vacation choice and it’s a only $37. How’s that for stretching your wardrobe budget?!

Style tip: The sweater is by A New Day from Target for $25! But I also linked a Nordstrom cashmere black sweater (currently on sale) that I’m thinking of grabbing since my Target sweater is getting old.

MEGAN : I’m in love with these shoes! They aren’t high tops, but they aren’t low tops either. They’re kinda just right. They work with every pair of pants I’ve tried them with so far. I love a casual everyday OOTD and this is just it. This Zella (Nordstrom Rack) jacket has been my closet hero piece all fall. It might be my favorite purchase.

Fit tip: When getting dressed each day (yes, get out of your leggings!), pick one item and create the outfit from that. In this situation it was the shoes. And the idea of being comfortable.

What We’re Loving: Everyday Favorites Worth Sharing

MEGAN : This week I’ve influenced myself. These red velvet tuxedo pants from J.Crew were the inspiration for my Mini Style Fix this week. I found so many ways to style them, (and they are on sale!) I bought them myself.

CHRISTA : These pajamas were in my under $100 gift guide, but I wanted to give them an extra shout out here. They are BY FAR my favorite pajamas (in fact, the only pajamas I own!). I love them because they’re just the right weight, so I don’t get too hot or too cold. From the website: dreamy PJs made of touchably soft, lightweight fabric. Treat yourself this holiday season to a new pair (look how many fun holiday patterns/colors!), or give them as a gift they’ll love to receive. Also available for men.

Pro tip: If you still love the tradition of matching Christmas morning pajamas—even though everyone’s grown up—these are perfect. Available in a variety of styles for both men and women, they make festive family matching fun again when you mix-and-match different colors and patterns!

Mini Style Fix: Creating Holiday Cocktail Party Outfits

The Mini Style Fix is like your stylish bestie whispering, “Wear this, you’ll look fabulous”—these bite-sized tips are fast, fun, and totally doable.

Choosing the perfect holiday cocktail party outfit harkens us back to the “Christmas Dress” of yore. Remember when going to the mall with your mom to pick out a Christmas dress was one of the most exciting parts of the season? Guess what, it still is! Now we shop our closets AND the mall to create a holiday look that is both festive and comfortable. Whether you are the hostess or a guest, chose wisely and you will get lots of wear out of your holiday cocktail party outfit.

MEGAN : How to style red velvet pants and not look (or feel!) like Mrs. Claus. Last week I talked about my “three rule”. When I’m buying something new I find three ways to wear the item before I purchase. It has really helped me cut down on impulse buys. Today we are styling red velvet pants for a holiday cocktail party. Here are the three ways I’m styling these pants to get the most bang for my buck this holiday season. Cocktail, work and a cookie exchange. Yes, these pants can be styled fancy, corporate and casual. Let me know in the comments which look is your favorite.

CHRISTA : When you’re the hostess, you want to spend time fussing over your guests, not your outfit! For me, that means I’m wearing a festive red party dress! It’s the easiest way to get ready…just add some sparkly accessories and you’re all set for a fabulous evening. I’m sharing five dresses (ALL UNDER $100) that landed in my cart over the last few weeks.

Just for Fun: Smart Finds & Random Little Joys

CHRISTA : How cute! These cabinet knob covers are an easy, fun way to decorate for the holidays. Available in gingerbread houses, too!

MEGAN : Pro tip if you are hosting Thanksgiving this year. Stock up on disposable muffin pans (with lids!). These pans are the perfect way to send leftovers home with all your guests. Easy to reheat in the same container and you don’t have to watch all of your Tupperware walk out the door.
