From binge-worthy shows to great reads, must-have style picks, and thoughtful gift ideas, think of this as your weekly walk with friends who love sharing the good stuff.

We’re so glad you’re here—join us again, same time next week!

What We’re Watching This Week

MEGAN : Netflix just dropped all of season 1(8 episodes) of Black Rabbit . Jude Law and Jason Bateman star as brothers who own and run a restaurant in NYC. Based on the real life scandalous story of “Spotted Pig”, one brother leads the other down a path of crime. LOVE that Netflix served us all 8 episodes at once. We just watched the first episode and my husband and I are both loving it. So far it’s a little “The Bear” meets “Ozark” – ish.

CHRISTA : Looking for something fresh (and surprisingly heartwarming)? Check out SKETCH on Apple TV or Prime Video. It’s creative, suspenseful, touching—and just plain fun. A young girl’s grief-filled sketches tumble into a magical pond, bringing her monsters to life. Cue chaos, mayhem, and some seriously cool effects! If you loved Jumanji or The Goonies, you’ll enjoy this mix of thrills, laughs, and an emotional family story about love, loss, and healing. Basically, it’s got it all: heart, adventure, and a dash of magic.

What We’re Wearing: Outfit Ideas for Women Over 50

CHRISTA : I haven’t shopped at Madewell in a while. I was on their site looking for a belt and this top landed in my cart, too! Funny how that happens! It’s a very comfortable thinner knit–perfect for layering under your favorite jackets for fall without being too bulky or too warm. Comes in 4 colors (black, brown, grey and ivory), runs TTS. (I might have preferred a size bigger for the bust, so if you’re blessed, size up!)

Pup tip: Josie is making an appearance today. Her OOTD includes this super cute red polka dot collar from Mimi Green.

MEGAN : Todays boating outfit is brought to you by your kids closet. I love my RL flag sweater and I wear it all the time in the summer. But, I realize that dropping over $300 on a sweater is silly. This exact sweater, also RL, from the boys department, is on sale and FULLY STOCKED for $95. The boys XL fits like a ladies medium. I also dug up a pair of my son’s old Sperrys from the school uniform days. Not only was today a beautiful day on the water with friends, but it was a “shop your kid’s closet” win too.

What We’re Loving: Everyday Favorites Worth Sharing

MEGAN : I’ve been using a new eyeliner since July and it’s the perfect color for blue eyes. Called “Mink Greige” it’s a what I would call a taupe-y grey. It’s a beautiful color, cool toned, very natural looking, available on Amazon (so I don’t have to leave my house to restock it), stays on all day and the application is soft and smooth. My only complaint is that it’s not a twist, you have to sharpen it. Sweed Beauty, if you are listening, PLEASE make this a twist up then it would be PERFECT.

CHRISTA : I have to share my latest little obsession—these $8 lotions from Anthropologie. They’re the perfect toss-in-your-purse size, and the scents are light, fresh, and not at all overwhelming. My personal favorite? Champagne Hour—it just feels a little bit fancy every time I use it. These make such great “just because” gifts too—think girls’ night hostess, walking buddy, or even tucked into your gift closet so you’re always prepared. Give it a try–it might be the thing you bring to this year’s Favorite Things party!

Mini Style Fix: Short Sleeve Sweaters for Now & Later

The Mini Style Fix is like your stylish bestie whispering, “Wear this, you’ll look fabulous”—these bite-sized tips are fast, fun, and totally doable.

Short sleeve sweaters are trending this fall. We’ve seen them in all the stores and online. If you are only adding one item to your closet this fall, pick a short sleeve sweater. The versatility and longevity of a short sleeve sweater will make the small(ish) investment worth it. The perfect addition to your wardrobe, keeping you stylish and comfortable.

MEGAN : Think of short sleeve sweaters as your favorite tee shirt for fall. Layer it over a tank, long sleeve tee or button up shirt, or wear it alone. A short sleeved sweater elevates your “jeans and a tee” look by adding some texture (and warmth!). I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that for women dealing with hot flashes, wearing short sleeves is a welcome alternative to being bundled up in a long sleeve sweater.

Style Tip: I love this gray cashmere short sleeve sweater “tee”. The side vents make it elevated, would be perfect with jeans or black pants. Toss on a blazer and a scarf and you can go anywhere the day takes you.

CHRISTA : A short sleeve sweater is such a smart little piece to have in your wardrobe—it’s cozy without being too warm, which makes it perfect for right now. Pair it with jeans or a skirt for an easy, polished look that still feels relaxed. When the temps drop, just layer it over a crisp button-down or under a blazer or jacket for extra warmth and style. It’s one of those versatile staples that works hard all year long!

Style Tip: Match your sweater to your trousers for a chic column of color—instant elongation and a put-together vibe without trying too hard. Add comfortable kitten heels, and you’ve got an outfit that feels current but totally wearable.

Just for Fun: How to Stay Warm at a Football Game

CHRISTA : Don’t sacrifice style at your next cold weather tailgate! I rounded up some accessories and layering pieces that are ideal for chilly game days: think scarves, beanies, gloves, and puffer vests. Many are from Amazon, so they won’t break the bank. Pro tip: I own this vest and it is a GREAT warm find at a super affordable price.

Style tip: Cold game days call for layers, comfort, and a little creativity. Start with your go-to jeans or fleece-lined leggings, then add a fun sweater or sweatshirt. Top it off affordable accessories in your team’s colors to pull the whole look together. Amazon has a great selection of scarves, hats, and outerwear in every hue—so you can show your spirit and stay warm while you cheer from the stands.

MEGAN : If you are lucky enough to be going to a chilly game day / parents weekend, layers are your friend. Start with a base of jeans and a team sweater or sweatshirt and ALWAYS comfortable shoes. Your main sporting event on game day is walking!
