What We’re Watching
MEGAN : The Better Sister on Prime is an eight episode mini-series. Two estranged sisters try to solve the mystery of their murdered (ex) husband. <they were both married to the same man at different times> Great show to watch with your spouse or bestie. I’m really getting into the whodunnits this summer!
CHRISTA : Is anyone else looking forward to the premiere of The Gilded Age (Season 3, HBO Max) on Sunday? Thanks to my friend Tina for recommending this show! I thoroughly enjoyed binging the first two seasons of this period series. The marvelous dresses, the high society drama, and oh, the glorious hats! Can’t wait to see what the new season brings!
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : This outfit isn’t new (these amazing jeans always get compliments), but the real star this week is the shoes. I’m finally getting serious about comfortable footwear—no more flat slides with zero support. I needed something with a strap and comfy footbed. These neutral FitFlop sandals hit the mark! If you don’t love toe-post styles, skip them, but after a few wears, I found them super comfy.
Style tip: a neutral shoe is incredibly flattering—it blends with your skin tone to elongate your legs and keeps the focus on your outfit, not your feet. Why did I spend soooo many years wearing nothing but black?

MEGAN : Navy cotton poplin is my favorite. She’s stiff and structured but doesn’t make me hot. This blouse is from Nordstrom Rack (comes in 4 colors – even butter yellow!) and I’m loving it. Wore it with these older Vince pull on pants (I had them hemmed into shorts) for a lunch date with Christa. I’ve worn the navy top with white jeans, tan linen pants and my Target white skirt. She’s a crowd pleaser.

What We’re Loving (and Think You Might Too!)
MEGAN : Instagram served me an ad with this Vineyard Vines cardigan and I have never felt more seen. Perfect for chilly nights on the deck and really perfect for sitting outside to watch the fireworks on the Fourth of July. I’m thinking of a million ways to wear this cutie cardigan:
- over a white sundress
- with red shorts and a white tee
- over a blue/denim shirtdress
- with white linen pants and a tank
- (in the fall) with jeans and a denim shirt
CHRISTA : We love these Nylabone chews for our dog—they keep her from chewing things she shouldn’t! Broccoli is her fave, and they’re tough enough to last. Perfect for aggressive chewers who destroy everything else!

MEGAN : I’ve been driving back and forth to the Eastern Shore and that means lots of time in the car for Audibles. This week I listened to Atmosphere, Taylor Jenkins Reid’s latest book. Set in the 80s, it’s about the US space program and woman’s rise in NASA. It’s also a love story. I’m not a big science/NASA person so I was on the fence but this book was great. If you are a fan of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones and the Six, you will enjoy this book.
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is Coming!
We love Nordstrom so much, we wrote a whole post about it!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale isn’t the leftover, picked over, no-one-wants-it stuff that they’re clearing out to make room for next season. It’s NEW fall and winter merchandise that is magically marked down so you can update your closet/home/beauty supplies at a significant discount.
The “preview” begins Thursday, June 26 at noon EST. It’s an opportunity to shop thoughtfully and wisely. Build your wish list and then compare your wants to what you really need, checking what you have in your closet and drawers first. Because the sale includes a lot of fall and winter, go back and remind yourself what you have and love, and try on items to see if they need an update. Look through your drawers to see if you need to restock basics, like workout tops, undies and bras.
