What’s on the Blog

Are your pajamas the most comfortable thing you own? We love to wear cozy pajamas and we’re sharing our favorites with you this week on the blog.

In case you missed it, here’s last week’s Walk and Talk, including some easy Valentine’s Day ideas to show someone you care.
What We’re Watching
MEGAN : I’m working my way through the Best Picture Oscar nominees. This week I watched Heretic. Trigger Alert: This is a horror film. Now I’m not much on horror movies, but when I saw Hugh Grant was starring in it I thought, “Meh – how scary can it be?”. Um, it was scary. The premise it basically Hugh Grant vs. two female Mormon missionaries. Let your imagination go wild. I watched the second half of it peeking through a blanket.
CHRISTA : I watched Heretic over the holiday break with family, and we all agreed it wasn’t scary enough (sorry Megan!). So, if you’re like me and want more horror, you’ll be completely engrossed in Nosferatu (Prime Video). With an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and four Academy Award nominations, this eerie tale stars Bill Skarsgård as a relentless vampire fixated on Lily-Rose Depp’s character. Described by Rotten Tomatoes as “equal parts repulsive and seductive,” it’s the perfect pick for horror fans craving a spine-chilling experience!
What We’re Wearing
CHRISTA : Resharing an outfit from a month ago because, honestly, this is what I reach for most days—and these pieces are still favorites! Sometimes it’s hard to get your sh!t together enough to get dressed AND take a picture. When that happens, a comfy athleisure look is the way to go. This top runs a little big, so you might want to size down. I’ve linked a few other go-to pieces below in case you need an easy, put-together athleisure look!

MEGAN : Just a casual Wednesday date night. Freezing rain and snow was not invited but did attend. I am in love with these Quince “look for less” suede clogs. They are so comfortable and HALF THE PRICE of the OGs. The perfect way to try a trend before going all in. Paired with some yummy cashmere socks, it feels like I’m going out in my slippers!

What We’re Loving (and Think You Might Too!)
MEGAN : This is the point during winter where I’m getting sick of my coat. I saw this Alex Mill Sophia jacket in a little boutique last weekend and fell in love. They didn’t have my size, but it’s too cute not to share. Here are a few coats that I’ve rounded up in case you’re sick of your coat too. Most of them are on sale!
CHRISTA : I’ve always loved a little touch of leopard print! It’s practically a neutral and instantly makes an outfit feel elevated. It looks fabulous with black, but also pairs beautifully with red, green, white…honestly, just about anything! I’m sharing three pieces I own (and recommend) if you’re ready to add a little leopard to your life.
What We’re Reading in February
CHRISTA : I downloaded The Killing Plains–next in my Kindle queue–because the reviews said it’s perfect for viewers of True Detective. From the publisher: “I devoured The Killing Plains overnight; this darkly atmospheric crime thriller is perfect for readers of All the Colors of the Dark and viewers of True Detective. Rankin’s writing is exquisite, and she has penned a compelling, simmering crime thriller which spans two decades and engulfs a small West Texas town. Having already won the CWA Debut Dagger Award, Rankin is just at the start of a very exciting writing career.“

MEGAN : My book club is reading Whale Fall by Elizabeth O’Connor this month. The write up says that people who bought this book also bought God of the Woods and James, it should be a good fit!
THE NEW YORK TIMES BOOK REVIEW NOTABLE BOOK • A stunning debut from an award-winning writer, about loss, isolation, folklore, and the joy and dissonance of finding oneself by exploring life outside one’s community
Random Stuff We Like
MEGAN : There is something nostalgic about Valentine’s Day cards, maybe it was the decorated shoe box or just picking colorful, silly cards and giving them to you girlfriends. Nothing brings a smile to EVERYONE’S face like getting a little fun snail mail. In last week’s Walk and Talk we shared ways to stay connected with friends, this is your sign. Order some fun cards and send them to ten girlfriends.
CHRISTA : No time to shop for a Valentine’s Day gift? Too late to send a care package? Try Giftly! Choose the amount, card design, a suggested restaurant or store, and a greeting. Send it via Email, Text, Print, or Mail (fees apply). Recipients can redeem the gift to PayPal, their bank, or a Visa Gift Card. Your store suggestion is optional—they can use it anywhere and even send a thank-you via Giftly!
