(Feels like we should be handing out an award for each of these!) There were some definite Style Among Friends favorites in 2022, yours and ours! Which ones landed in your cart? #1 EVERYONE NEEDS GREAT BLACK PANTS
We wouldn’t have made it through the holiday season without our trusty black pants. We each have a favorite and recommend them as a closet staple you’ll wear again and again. Megan’s Liverpool black pants look fantastic on, they have a bit of knit (ah-hem stretch) in them which makes them lay perfectly. Christa’s Wit & Wisdom pants are extra comfy with a little bit of stretch (size down). Check out the full review here.
#2 COZY BLANKETS WERE THE WARM HUG WE ALL NEEDED
Apparently we all needed a little cozy in our lives in 2022! These four blankets made the SaF top list!
#3 WE ALL LOVE ELEVATED DENIM LOOKS
Two favorites in the denim department! Dress them up or dress them down. Both are great additions we think you’ll love having in your closet!
Megan’s coated denim was a holiday hero this year. To holiday parties, lunches or just for a festive look, this denim even elevates a sweatshirt. We love this trend and we think it’s here to stay.
No matter what you pair with the Wit & Wisdom Itty Bitty Boot Cut Jeans, they work. Add some block heels, wedges or boots and they give you legs for days! Definitely a wardrobe staple if they can do all that! It seems that we all agree that the full length denim in on the nice list.
#4 THESE WERE A “CLEAR” FAVORITE
Two items were “clear” favorite among all of you (see what we did there!)…the SCHUTZ ultra-versatile sandal in the comfortable 2.5″ block heel height works with EVERY outfit! If you don’t like the cork heel they have lots of other colors.
And a good clear bag is a must-have for your game day, event or concert — we have two of them we think you’ll like and are SAF approved.
#5 SHOWER TABS…WHAT MORE CAN WE SAY?
These shower tabs make every day seem like a spa day. They are the perfect hostess gift or send to a friend with the flu. A little self care goes a long way. Lot’s of ways to display and store these little babies. Here are a few of our ideas:
#6 WE’RE DECLARING THIS THE PURSE OF 2022
The Tory Burch Kira crossbody was very popular. It’s just the right size to hold everything you need. Sadly Christa’s exact style is no longer available (her bag measures about 10″ x 7″ if you’re checking for it on resale sites like Poshmark — not to be confused with the mini version), but no worries because we’ve got another one for you!
TB now makes a similar bag in the cutest square version — hello, 2023 bag! They also have this mini version which would be perfect for date night or a girls’ night out (and it’s on sale!). Tory Burch always does color really well and these bags are no exception. The chain elevates the look from “mom” to “fancy.”
#7 WE’RE GIVING TARGET, AMAZON AND WAL-MART A PLACE IN OUR CLOSETS
Target, Amazon and Wal-mart were big winners this year and really stepped up their fashion game. They have the perfect pieces to add some trends to your closet without spending a lot of money. We’ll definitely be giving them a second look in 2023!
The favorites from 2022 included an Amazon sweatshirt, THE Amazon summer dress, the Target 1/4 zip sweatshirt, our favorite save vs. splurge sweater from The Drop on Amazon, and the Wal-mart hoodie. (Sadly, our Wal-mart hoodie is sold out in almost every size/color, but this Amazon hoodie sweater is a good option).
#8 CLASSIC SWEATERS NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE
Nordstrom Cashmere is a great, affordable option to add some classic style to your wardrobe. Cashmere never goes out of style and it elevates any look. From distressed jeans to a cocktail dress a cashmere sweater goes with everything.
J.Crew Coatigan (aka Juliette collarless blazer), oh, how we ALL love you. Gray, camel, black, red…the colors and possibilities are endless. Megan’s been known to throw hers on over workout clothes and also wear as a jacket with trousers and a blouse. We wish we were keeping track of cost per wear because it’s got to be pennies by now. Get yours soon and it will be the perfect layer to carry you through the spring. A great option for travel, too.
#9 WALK AND TALK ESSENTIALS WE ALL LOVED THIS YEAR
Belt bags are a Style Among Friends Walk and Talk staple. We are connaiseurs of all things belt bag. Lululemon makes the cult fav but she’s illusive and hard to find. Amazon has a pretty awesome dupe if you can’t wait for the Lulu to come back in stock. We have both and love ’em. No shame in that dupe game.
ON Cloud shoes are really trending right now. You know when you see the college girls AND the grandparents wearing these you are on to something. We love the versatility; walking the dog, HIIT class, Walk and Talk Friday, the ON Clouds get the job done.
CRZ Yoga pants are the best. Multiple colors, lengths, sizes and styles – these are our go to for all our work out (or lounging) needs. We’re glad you love them as much as us! Pro tip: The mens line is also pretty awesome. Santa hooked Megan’s son up and we were all impressed.
#10 BEAUTY PRODUCTS YOU LOVE AS MUCH AS WE DO!
Pro tip: Each of these or any combo would make a great girlfriend gift. We would pop it into a cello bag with some fancy tissue and “the good ribbon”, iykyk.
Stephanie, Megan’s hair magician, calls Color Wow Dream Coat anti-frizz a raincoat for your hair. It calms the frizz and makes your blow dry nice and smooth.
The Evan Healy eye balm is a the product you will keep by your bed. Swipe it around your eyes and on your lips before bed. It’s also great on your cheeks when you are walking the dog in the cold. We’ve been known to rub it into our cuticles too.
Londontown Nail Illuminating Concealer gives you that fresh manicured look without leaving your house. Very natural and gives that “polished” look we all want. Our fav color is the “Milky” but the Pink is great too. You get a whole bottle for the price of one manicure!
