The Best of November | 2022

Welcome to another Best of Style Among Friends! How are we already in December and closing out another year soon? Thank you for following along on the blog, we can’t wait to share more fun finds in 2023.

For last month’s picks, check out the Best of October | 2022.

CHRISTA : Such a fun month! I think I can speak for Megan when I say we have thoroughly enjoyed answering your reader requests, sharing our holiday tips, and shopping for you with our holiday gift guides. Finally an outlet for my on-line shopping addiction and Megan’s in-store shopping addiction! How else can we help? We’d love to hear from you! We closed November feeling extremely blessed and thankful for all of you reading the blog! Enjoy the holiday season, friends!

MEGAN : How fun are all those gift guides? I am often asked, “What should I get my MIL?” or “What are the teenage boys into this year?”. Creating SAF gift guides was just putting all that info in one place, easy peasy! We appreciate all your feed back on them because, well, they are a lot of work and it’s nice to know they are helpful. Hopefully your shopping is almost done and you’re settled on the couch with a latte and Christmas movie, but if it’s not – we are here and ready to help. Leave us a comment and let us know what you are struggling to find. We love a shopping challenge.

YOUR “TOP FIVE” FOR NOVEMBER

Are you busy shopping but maybe taking time for a cup of tea? The Mariage Frerers Marco Polo Vert tea is the best, especially snuggled up under a pink leopard fleece blanket. Or maybe you are at a holiday party in your new coated jeans and sequined top? Either way, we see you and we love it. And yes, we all agree, the light up light saber chopsticks are the best stocking stuffer. Happy shopping friends!

OUR “TOP FIVE” FOR NOVEMBER

These are our favorites from November and we’re excited to share them with you. As always we searched our Amazon recent purchases and looked at the stacks in our closets and came up with our top five purchases from the month. They are randomly spectacular and quickly becoming must haves. Don’t hesitate to order a few for your own stocking, we won’t tell!

CHRISTA’S NOVEMBER PICKS

1 Stripes Skincare

When Megan and I were fangirling over Naomi Watts in The Watcher, I discovered her skincare line, Stripes, for (peri-)menopausal women. My skin has never felt softer and smoother! Every morning, I use the Resting Clean Face cleanser, The Power Move serum and Dew As I Do cream. They are definitely a little pricey, but I feel like they’ll last forever because you only need 1-2 small pumps of each product. My skin has never felt better with these three products as my new A.M. routine.

They offer all three products in a travel size set if you want to give them a try.

2 Striped Funnel Neck Sweater from Nordstrom

I had it in my head that I needed a striped sweater — and this one is perfect! It’s giving me vibes of some of the more expensive striped sweaters that are in demand this season (but half the price).

For a complete outfit, I wear this sweater with my black Wit & Wisdom pants and a pair of black booties or flats.

3 Sorel Joan of Arctic Wedge II Buckle Booties

These are my fave boots from last year, and they’re a go to for me again this year. I like the extra height in the 3″ heel, and because they’re a wedge they’re really comfortable. They’re waterproof and have a grippy sole for wintery conditions. Bonus — they are available at Nordstrom Rack for almost 40% off and all sizes are available!

Here is the same boot in brown.

And here’s a link to all of the Sorel Joan of Arctic style boots on Nordstrom Rack if you need some other options.

4 Bamboo Kitchen Drawer Dividers

Sometimes it’s the simple things that give us the most satisfaction — like these drawer dividers! Get control of your utensil drawer with these simple dividers. Because these drawer dividers are spring-loaded, they fit most drawers and stay in place. I have them in the kitchen, my craft room, and bought a few for my daughter’s new place.

5 Stars Above Pajama Set from Target

Target for the win (as always!) on PJs and slippers. The Stars Above pajamas are a favorite of mine. They wash really well (avoid the dryer) and are super comfy (without making me too hot). This burgundy pair is perfect for the holidays and I love the subtle pattern. For Christmas morning, I’ll be pairing them with my Santa slippers from my “3 under $30” post.

MEGAN’S NOVEMBER PICKS

1 LED Warm White Holiday Window Candles (9pk)

I finally broke down and ordered these after the PTSD from the old plug in/tape to the window ones wore off. The technology has come a loooooong way. These are battery operated and the whole house is controlled by one remote (I actually have 2 packs of them). And they flicker. Boom!

2 Spanx Air Essentials Got Ya Covered Pullover

I stumbled on this top while flipping through the rack at Nordstroms. It stopped me in my tracks because the material is MAGICAL. I can’t even describe it, but I’ve been wearing it 3 x a week since I got it with no end in sight.

3 Cashmere Socks

Cashmere socks are the ultimate luxury. Buh-bye cold feet. Currently 50% off at J.Crew.

4 Weleda Skin Food – Ultra Rich Cream

Tis the season for dry chapped skin. Every morning I walk my dog and my cheeks get so pink and cold. This skin food is a life saver. Soaks right in and voila no chaffed cheeks.

5 Furry Hard Sole Slides

The first time I purchased these was the fall of 2020. They were my winter pandemic shoes. Since then I’ve bought and gifted them several times. With socks or without, in the house or at Trader Joe’s they are a winner.
